Rent bikes?
You'd have to do that in Italy, no one rents anything above 125cc here usually.

I think the tour company, that does rentals too, is based in Montenegro.

I am most interested in good pics of aftermarket windshields for the GT. I'm a big GIVI fan and have a definite interest in that. Mostly mine will be used for interstate work. I am 5' 10" and prefer to look just over.

Any thoughts or suggestions from folks who have bought windshields for their GT's would be most appreciated.

Yes I saw that too in my research. Somehow I feel that the windshield was in a bind or it would not have done that. It is very unlike GIVI to have issues from my experience. It is a concern however.

My new to me GT has an Ermax windshield. The bike will be here Thursday and that shield may be just fine but it is dark tinted and my preference has always been for clear due to night/rain visibility issues.

I've researched a bunch but pictures of various available windscreens are few and far between.

From my experience, and it's exactly my line of work now, Givi is nothing
special in any of their product ranges, and most of their products (like many
other Italian brands) offer a good looking product without the quality to
back up the rather high price.

There's better products out there, sometimes for less money.
Ditto for topcases.

As you can see on the justgottascoot site, bike ended up with a biondi screen
and shad topcase, exactly what I did with my Downtown 300. No regrets.

I have both a Shad rack and top case on my Zuma 125, and the quality is good, certainly acceptable, but not great. But it didn't cost a fortune either.

As for the GTi 300, I like it. I just found out that the Honda Forza is coming to the U.S., and got excited there for a moment. Then I went to the Kymco site and checked out the GTi 300, and found the MSRP to be $200 less than the Honda, plus Honda has a $300+ "destination charge" added to theirs. That's a $500 difference, and after all is said and done, with all of Honda's "dealers fees", the Kymco will probably go out the door for $1000 less than the Honda.

Does anyone know what is involved in checking/adjusting the valves on the Kymco? The Forza looks exactly like the PCX150, and it has recommended valve check intervals of 2500 miles, and it is a 3 hour job. That's why I picked the Zuma over the PCX. If the Forza has the same problem, and the Kymco doesn't, then the Kymco is definitely the winner.

Kymco tends to have fairly short service intervals. I'm not sure about the 300's. My super 8 has 2500 valve adjustment interval but is pretty easy to do. Again, I don't know about the 300. My impression is that the traditional upright scooters tend to have easier engine access than the Maxi styled scoots like the PCX.

As for price, you should be able to pick up a Kymco 300 for about $500 under MSRP + Tax.

The air cooled carbed ones have short service intervals, just like an older
yamaha or a piaggio.

The 300s are again, just like the rest of the bigger engine/FI/water cooled
crowd. Around 4k miles for oil changes IIRC.

First check is at 1k km (so that's what.. 600 miles?) then next I believe around
15k miles.
