I would love to do the route but I would have to do it in two days not three.

Maybe you can send me the route so that I can follow it on a later date with another group of weekenders.

Yes, I'm very interested and would appreciate the CR numbers.
Thanks!

I'm stoked!!!!!
You can call the store anytime and get on-the-ground reports, though. Very useful. The diner next to it has been known to produce a delicious hamburguesa to order when it's open. Other than that... not much happening outside of October and November in that little town.

Hey NWCOlorider, Do you have an update on what used to be the Maybell Mercantile? The last time I stopped there the long time owners had retired and a new operator was running the place into the ground. Terrible food and worse service. Has that changed?

The cafe is now called Lou's. stopped there last Sunday, had a great breakfast and cup of coffee. The mercantile/store/gas station is still going, I always get good service.

I assume everyone knows it but I'll mention it...

this is a "self sufficiency ride".

We will be camping both nights and you are expected to have everything you'll need with you. It's the middle-of-nowehere out there... so be prepared to sleep on the ground, poop in the sage, and fix your flat tire

Echo Park does have picnic tables and pit toilets s

We will be riding on dirt whenever possible. Although it is primarily dirt roads, there are some sections of the Yampa Bench that could be deeper sand/silt (but those stretches don't last long.. my granny could ride through 'em).

We will be about as far from a motorcycle shop as you can get so make sure your bike is ready. Fresh tires, good chain & sprockets, etc. I've ridden with most of you gents so I know you guys get it.. just thought I'd mention it for any "n00bs" that maybe be considering joining us

Remember: N00bs have to bring bacon

Granny:

p.s.

In for sure now! Got the time off approved...Just gotta get through the next three weeks of tests and finals then I'll have a solid week and a half to prepare before the ride.

Edit: with the reserve my range is closer to 175 miles... close to 200 if I'm easy on the throttle.

If not I may have some options for gas in Browns Park. I have students that have ranches out there and could send some cans out ahead of time. The store is ht and miss, but the number is
970-365-3658
Now I have a reason to put my new tank on the Dr that has been in the shop for a year.
