WTF Practical?
Since when has buying a motorcycle ever been an exercise in good and rational judement? Who cares if it takes $20K to fix the damn thing. If the guy has the means and is willing to do what it takes to make it right "for him" more power to ya.
There is an invaluable component to owning anything, much less a motorcycle, that you have personally ressurected from death. The knowing that this project, if and when completed, was accomplished by oneself, and ever last little item that makes its existence possible has been touched, felt, examined, understood and assembled by the owner will have a meaning that no one but them will comprehend. Put a price tag on that. What's the Buddhist saying..."to journey well is better than to arrive" or something like that. Hell I would have bought the thing just for the challenge. I'm with MIXR, Good on ya mate. Now get busy and let's see some progress pics.

She' s almost there mates!
Bracky is going to post my picts for me here. She looks like a HP2e but only way more cool. Kind of like BMW dropped off the parts in bologna Italy in raw form and the Ducati plant painted it and put it together. She will be finished within the next few weeks. I hope "Bobby" (CAPTAIN AMERICA) from BMW of Atlanta likes it. LOL.
Cheers, Moosemeat |

if it was a diesel that required only two wires to run i'd say it was an awesome deal, for a go cart.
2nd if - if it ever runs i'll buy you a beer... and we ought to be able to get 500 other of these fuckers watching to chip in for your efforts too.

Looks like a real project, I would have taken it on had it been local to me.
One time I pulled an old Honda 70cc trail bike out of a local river. It was submerged for a while, maybe years. I put some work into it and after some money and time, got the thing going and had fun with it. It's not the same as fire/heat damage, but who cares! Get it going and have some fun. Pics are needed. |
