Hello,
Just an update, I stopped by Lake County yesterday and got all the vests, garbage bags and safety material. The county showed me some construction plans they have for Saturday farther up on the Cramer near Crosby Manitou State park. That shouldn't affect us. If you are riding down on the gravel from the North East, there is a detour in place, so you should be able to get around the construction.

We are planning on doing the highway cleanup 2 miles east of the HW1/Cramer Rd intersection. That should be just after the Cramer Rd turns into gravel. If you show up late just drive down the Cramer from Finland and you'll see us. Otherwise meet up with us at Our Place Saturday morning at 9am. I really hope it's more than just me picking up trash, there is a fine line between volunteering and hitch hiking the Cramer...

After the morning clean up, C-Zulu and I are thinking about riding up to Thunder Bay (via Sawbill and Gunflint Trail) to say hi to our Ontarian brothers at North Riders tavern. Probably camp up there for the evening. Maybe do some more scouting on the Ontario side MikeS started for the pontoon route for Shindig 13. Anyone is welcome to come with.

But I digress. Highway cleanup, Cramer road 9am at Our Place this Saturday Sept 8th. Be there or be square.

Awesome! Glad to hear it! Between the Arrowhead Rider family, Tom, Lutz and C-Zulu we should make quick work of it!

JWalters has a new adventure bike. Will it replace the big KTM?

As it turns out, it's harder to kick over than the XR650R.

Once it's running, it sure does rip though!

I especially like the high viz riding gear, makes you look really fast. Funny, I don't remember the sky being blue at all. Still have the fan going to dry out.

I think the blue sky was just the heavens opening up for such a sweet bike.

Yeah, it sure got wet out there. In hind sight, I'm really glad decided to stop and put on my raingear. My boots won't be dry for a week, though. The woods roads got really slick, too. Fun...but slick.

Had fun today, fellas. Let's do it again.

I had a great time this morning too even though Mother Nature decided to rain on us. It was worth it! Heck we even met some more riders that live up the Cramer road! Thanks to all who helped out. A special thanks to Arrowhead Rider's kids. They were troopers through the rain and did it with smiles on their faces the whole time! Let's plan on doing this again this spring. Someone else can pick the stretch of highway.

FYI, keep an eye out in the Two Harbors news paper, we should see a little blurb from Lake County thanking the NE MN ADVRiders!! :-) We are officially an unofficial gang of two wheeled hi-viz wearing vagabonds with DOT knobby tires.

I had to take another shot of my new beauty. What a sweet sweet machine. It only comes in one color... FAST!

That's about it for pictures though. Unfortunately there was no group shot, the rain started really coming down and we all went our own ways after the clean up. Good work!

PS. Anyone want to go watch C-Zulu in Grand Marais tomorrow?

Theilman Trail Ride

Toadl, Tbickner, and I along with hundreds of others hit this event yesterday. The trails are great, the event drew over 700 hundred riders this spring.

Tom rode his WR250 down from Afton, smoked us all on the trails for 7-8 hrs, camped out, and was gonna do it again today. That guy is an animal!!

Todd said he was gonna post a few photos on this thread at some point, if any Arrowhead riders want hit some nice trails, I'd recommend checking out this event in the spring.

Umm, well I kind of was too busy riding and trying to keep up to take pictures. I suppose I could of at the end of the day, but I was laying on the ground exhausted and unable to move. One picture will stay in my mind, when I looked over my shoulder and saw a snapshot of Greg catching some major air with his wheel turned to the side like a Motocrosser.

Greg checking out the scenery, over looking the campground. Somewhere down there Tbickner is taking a nap.

The next day it was hard to move but chores still had to be done. I do have responsibilities.
