It was great to finally talk with you in person, and meet the lovely Poly! I'll have to agree with everyone here, we could enjoy your on-stage ride reports for hours. On Saturday when they stopped your presentation at the 30min mark I was hoping for a takeover so you could continue.

You know, it's surprising you and strikingviking have never met. Somehow it seems that all you World-by-Moto travelers know each other.

naw, in seattle now. Im gettin a bit tired of it tho, 3 days a week at home to work just aint cutting it. Hard to make any money selling a few t-shirts.
Got the next 2 weeks off, then I'll decide how many more I want to do.

Doug

Do the New York, I'll take you out to Big Nicks, the finest dining establishment on the West Side.

Here's a suggestion that might work better than touring all over only to be given 30 minutes to talk about a lifetime of adventures. Say 'hey doug why dont I bring buy us some beers and we'll trade lies and stories'. :) I'm sure it will be a better experience and then Doug can spend more time in his garage. The only problem I can see with this is the long line outside the door! I'm sure he could fund his next trip just by returning all the empty beer cans!

Downtown Seattle is great. Its like Disneyland for Adults....the bars and restarants (You must have th rib eye at VONS..5 minute walk from the convention center) are the rides. The tweekers all dressed in black asking for handouts on the street corners are the costumed characters and Both Disneyland and Seattle use the same model of elevated tram. But seriously Doug,,,,VONS has some of the best beef in the US....they cook it using a mix of smoker grill and infrared. http://www.vonsroasthouse.com/

Go Kevin Smith-esque, old school biker burlesque with Facebook & Twitter, spread the word through mass media, rent a few theaters for a 1 hour movie slideshow, do a 7hr Q & A, charge $60/head.

Just wondering but did you keep any sort of record keeping, accumulated costs of travelling the 'Stans (border fee phuques included).

Hey Doug.

It was great meeting you last night here in Seattle, also thanks for putting up with all my questions. One thing I forgot to ask you was I assume that you camped every night on the road of bones, how was that??,I know you said that you don't camp much on most of these trips.I have alot more questions about my upcomming RTW trip so I will be emailing you in the near future.

Alan.

Hope you coming to Chicago Show, Doug . Like others said you are the only reason I'm going to be at that show as well. Only half hour off talk for all the adventures you been through is ridiculous though. You should have your own stage !!!
Hope to meet you soon !!!

Doug, it was a privilege to meet you today at the Seattle show. Thanks for sharing more insights and putting up with my tedious questions. Look forward to the final chapter of your trip back the other way.

Really sorry I couldn't stay for your presentation, I was summoned home by my better half!

+100

Seriously, for all you FFs in Seattle, I can't recommend a visit to the motorcycle show on Sunday highly enough. Doug speaks at 10:30 a.m. and it's easily the highlight of the show (and worth going to see if that's all you see). Plus, you'll get a chance to meet both Doug and Polly and ask all the dumb questions you care to ask.

Example: they had a pile of foreign currency at their booth and I asked Polly how she knew where they were from. She patiently said that she knew the languages and then showed where one of 'em was printed with "Bank of Iraq" .

Highly recommended.
