[QUOTE=Poly;16243370
Our boy got stuck on the border after Turkmenistan, I hope it is just a cigarette time. [/QUOTE]It looks like he's in the middle of nowhere, about a hundred yards from a large power distribution station. He doesn't have a 10,000 volt to 110 volt transformer with him, does he? |

It's Doug's thread
Not having a 'pop' at any individual poster, or their entheusiasm, but can we let Doug tell the story in his own time and manner?
I refer to people telling us of events and/or locations where Doug may or may not be, ahead of what Doug has told us. If people want to be at the forefront of breaking news why not go and do it themselves instead of being just a computor screen Adventure Rider??

My point is not so much about the "+1" and "in" brigade (although that seems pretty pointless and sad to me) but those who say things about ahead of where the thread originator's reporting has reached, thereby potentially spoiling the impact of the actual reporting when it comes.

To me it adds to the intrigue.....like a good mystery, moth and the flame, just a hint of what is to come,it leaves me wondering how he is doing, what and where..keeps me thinking about this report...Doug has a lot of people interested in his adventure and his welfare..

any of y'all ridden in a sandstorm?
for 2 FUCKING DAYS! SON of a BITCH! Anyhow, I made it to Uzbekistan, and my support truck is enroute from Italy with parts picked up in Hungary. Of course as Im not a movie star, & dont have 'The Force' my support truck is not a fully outfitted landrover, its a worn out harley electra glide. I think its fitting tho, as Nick was with me when my bike broke last year in Armenia, so now he can make up for that. ![]() Actually tho, the bike is doin fine, as long as I dont burn the headlights. You dont want to ride after dark here anyhow, as the camels like to sleep on the roads at night. I'll get my pics uploaded & update this ride report while I am here. No, really. I promise!
