Powerparts tank
Just a heads up for anyone looking into a 20L tank from KTM for the '12/13 model EXC. The tank itself is available and looks just like the Acerbis 5.3 gallon, actually it says powerparts on the tank (but arrived in an Acerbis logo bag). However, there are 3 parts which are needed to install it, all 3 have not been released by KTM as of yet, and are not in the instructions on mounting it that I recieved. We only found this out after getting a hold of them to confirm we needed more parts. They are currently on back order until early December. If I had to do again..go with the Acerbis tank. Inmates confirmed its plug and play.

I like my Heidenau K60's on the 640A and now that the first rear is toast on the 690, on goes a K60.
Very long lasting and good on whatever ails you be it gravel, dirt, or tar. Dirty

Running a k-60 rear on my tiger 800. Got 25,000 km out of the last one. Plenty of bite, until they get worn down. Nice tread curve / wrap-around , can lean it right over.
Never tried a k-60 on the front, instead using a continental tkc-80 as I want a knobbie on the front, last one lasted nearly 14,000 km, can also lean them right over. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2 |

Hey out there, had my 2013 500exc for a while now and noticed something that is bugging me. At first when I turned the key before hitting the starter button I would hear buzz sound like a electric servo, no problem but now it does not make that sound, runs fine just kind of werd, bike stock except for desmog kit, and hardwired for battery tender.

2.5 hours on my XCW so far
Just put my springs in, since I'm a circus bear. What sag numbers do you guys like? I was amazed how good it was right out of the box and I was almost scared to even touch it but decided it could only get better with springs for my weight, I'm 260 with gear.I went for a quick beat around the hood last night and it felt pretty good. I have a parking lot ramp that I like to jump and it was very stable in the air. These bikes are amazing, can't wait for the next Enduro!

Cold starting
Alright I got my 12 500 back in may here in Texas when it was super warm. Pretty much every time just push the magic button and boom it fired right up. Now that we've had some cold days it really has a hard time starting even with the "choke." Yesterday if the engine was warm and I had just ridden it started right up but if I let it sit for even an hour it became hard to start again. It was even 80 here yesterday. First ktm so is this normal?

Mine starts fine here in Portland, its been in the 40's lately. You might want to check your fuel filter and your battery condition.

Battery is good but will replace fuel filter. I just figured if was fuel filter it wouldn't run right either. Could it be valves? Need to check those, too.

Huey, can you provide some additional information on the RTE rack including a source. I've Googled it and can't find squat. Thanks!
