Aftermarket Oil Filler Cap Question - R1100RS

Hi Guys,

My spare engine has a trick-looking aftermarket oil filler cap. It looks kinda like the current Wunderlich cap, but it is a one-piece unit, has a hex key opener, and has small headless screws to hold it in place. Is it an earlier model Wunderlich, or something else?

Thanks,

Touratech, Wunderlich and Hornig all sell a hex head filler cap but it's just a cap--fits into the stock threads. What you might have there is the Moto-Techniques cap. To install it, you remove the valve cover, then push out the BMW threaded part, then install the Moto-Tech part with the hidden screws, replace the valve cover, then screw in your new filler cap. I've got one on my 1150GSA. Very tight fit. Mine came with an allen keyring tool that is not big enough to open the cap (not with my hands anyway). I have to always use a regular allen wrench to open it. Never had to mess with the threaded insert. Once installed, it stays installed.
