Gandy Creek Outflow

No, I didn't--stayed on the road going out. Rode very slow, saw where the ridgeline comes down in the outflow drainage and about where it should be, but as we'd discussed there's a lot of new evergreen growth there. Pretty obvious where it should be, though. I did cross the small creek that flows into Gandy Creek just after the outflow, that we saw on your map.

Thanks for sharing the map, BTW. It all made sense then.

I'll let others post the scenic beauty...I'll post the other stuff...or what I managed to capture. I'll say this, my trip started in sunny warm Richmond and I made the critical LF mistake of packing for that weather...by the time we hit Monterey I could tell it was gonna be cold & damp. I hit the Family Dollar to buy a hat so I wouldn't freeze at night...one nice fleece beanie...11 cents I'll jump right into Friday night:

scottp headed out for the green light tour....Orexpat got some cool action shots of that little nightime ride...

shirtless blooch thats only after he thought whitegas made for a decent cologne ...andbody got a match....

more rope trick dancing by the PA fellas....

kevin...um...basking in the glow from some 'creek water'.........

Good night to Friday.....

FOX, HBNette and I kicked it Fri night at his place in Barboursville then scooted on over to WV in the AM after a delightful breakfast of homemade waffles and protein shake

Riding up Spruce Knob (we were here last weekend so omitted the trip up)

Set up camp and then rode up to Thomas for a lunch at the Purple Fiddle but they were closed for a wedding

Oh...what is this???

After our meal, we scooted over to Blackwater Falls which was flowing something fierce. I've never seen it coming down so heavy

If you haven't read "The Virginia Canaan" by David Hunter Strother...I would high suggest it -free on Google Books

"She loves me. She loves me not"

How much yard crap can you fit in there? I'd hate to see it around Christmas Time..

Great night around the fire and a sound sleep with a few sprinkles through the night. Mmmm I love LF

In the AM, folks started to roll out as we leisurely packed up. This shot sorta sums up Skippii's Bike Woes of the AM...

I was there for a short bit, rode for an hour with some of the guys and cut off on my own.

Some pics of the first gas stop..

Entering Davis, WV.

At the Purple Fiddle:

At camp with the ADV folks, just walking about with a camera in hand:

To my taste, this is the best looking bike at the place! I loved his BMW!

Stopped to get a haircut, parked here...

Nice old bank

Happy rider!

Some really nice scenary

Lots of roads with twisties!

Seneca Rock

Time to kick it home...

Sometimes, you just need to kick back on the highway pegs and the miles slide right on by!

My ride started at about 4PM Friday and I was back home at about 9:30PM Saturday, during this 30 hour duration I applied just under 700 miles to the KLRs odometer.

Wow, thanks! That's high praise, considering how many gorgeous bikes there were.
