I have the frame stripped and the swingarm heading to be modified, now to tidy up the frame paint.

Anyone know of a place I can get a can of 24K - Light Charcoal Metalic frame paint from?

I called the big shops in Sydney with no luck

I know of VG Auto Paints, who will mix up a special scanned colour match.

So where am I up too with this?

Well the frame is now bare and I have decided to get it painted black.

The swingarm is going to have the same mod that was done on Kevin Schwantz's DRZ400 Australian Safari Bike which will give me 300mm rear suspension travel.

I have ordered a heap of new parts, including a 4mm stroker crank. This will take the engine out to 462cc. I will stick with the stock 39mm Flatslide as I am more interested in tourque than out and out top end power.

I have also ordered some Fluidyne rads as well.

I have a 2 day ride in October so now have a deadline for that

How slow is this rebuild??

Just picked up my DRZ frame in a nice 80% gloss black from Jim at Motopaint. He did a great job! Call him on 0414 363 616

Reassembly will begin once the black has cure a little further

For now its sitting in the corner of my office

Thumb Over tewlve months...? That's some slow curing paint...?

As alway's Pezz, really keen to see what the "Skunkworks" produce this time around.

Considering what you brought home;

The corpse:

All the bits:

And the itinerary of "bling bits" you plan on tossing at her:

Now if the rest of your rebuild shows the same beautiful attention to detail an workmanship as that gorgeous black frame Pezz , this gonna be one that is worth waiting for...!

SKUNKWORKS TM.
Turning basket cases into moto art.
Since christ knows when...

Thanks for the encouragement

Yep its going to come together nicely.

It took 12 months to paint the frame

Rest should happen quite quickly

I have a friends R80G/S on the bench having a major upgrade carried out. I was hoping to have it finished by this weekend, but slow parts have hindered progress.

It has a nice new piant job from MotoPaint too!!

DRJoe - The V6 two stroke is for another beast, you found me a motor yet???

how many do you want?

What about a v4 we have a 115hp all stripped and sitting waiting for a use.

If you send me up a bm trouble you gear boxand clutch I'll see what it'll take to bolt the thing on.

Well, reckon a V6 would be a bit wilder
Maybe we should move this to the stealth lab??

Otherwise people might become aware of my illness ??

Got any pics of the stripped donk?
