Honda XR650L returns for 2012

- XR650L: The Legend Continues
In truth, the XR650L has grown to become a legend in its own time—and for good reason. Whether the road ahead holds dirt roads, single-track trails, highways or byways, the XR650L serves as the key that opens the door to riding adventures and good times. For years, devotees of the XR650L have trusted this do-it-all mount to transport them to all kinds of far-flung destinations and back again. And for 2012, the much-beloved XR650L returns to accomplish all kinds of two-wheeled missions once more. Availability: July 2011.

I agree that it's time for changes, but my XR and XRL are as reliable as anvils. In addition, the have the weight characteristics of anvils. I'd like to see a modern 700cc EFI XR

While they are laughing, we are riding, while their bike owners are working on their bikes!

Get the weight to around 270 and add fuel injection and I'd be all over it. Guess my checking account has nothing to worry about.

Yep, nothing at all to worry about. That is probably even less likely than Yamaha actually making a street legal WR450r with the 250r maintenance schedule. Unfortunately we'll probably never see either.

So far it's been two years and 7000 miles on my 2009 KTM 690r and nothing but smiles. I had a Honda XR650L last century and it was underpowered and a bit porky. Honda could build a great bike but I can only guess the dollars are not there.
