Hi Lisa, sounds good to me! However, I usually don't get much free time for joy riding, between 3 young boys, working weekends, and working opposite shifts of my wife, the majority of my riding is to and from work, in Hampden. I'm hoping all this will change once my wife gets a dayshift job and the boys start school. My oldest starts kindergarten this year, then 2 more years until his 2 little brothers can go. Hopefully I can get together with you guys for a ride sometime.

Im also from Maine(sanford). Although I left many years ago, someday I will return for more than a visit. Keep the pictures coming but be careful, when others see what it really looks like up there you will be overrun with visitors. I miss the rocks, the smell of the ocean, the clean salty air, the trees, and yes I miss the bluntness, straight forwardness of the people. Been gone 30 years and still have my accent when home and when drinking.

Here are some pics from our ride to the Whitehorse open house in May-didn't take any pics other than these cause it was a long day of riding- not very scenic, but part of the adventure of riding- Shoein likes to call this series "Missed the deer, trashed the wheel"- Fortunately both him and the deer were ok- he thought he had hit it until he realized he hadn't. He kept the bike upright during his swerving excursion of the road, but the rear wheel took a bit of a hit: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Aroostook Rip
Headed up to Houlton this weekend so Jerry could ride the RIP. Even the second day, which is the "easy" day is over my head as far as my dirt skills, so I decided to head off and do my own thing. We have only made it up to "the county" once on bikes and I remembered it as being really pretty and knew I couldn't go wrong, even if I stuck to the pavement. I have only ridden on my own locally to work or school, so this was my first time riding on my own for any distance and in unknown territory. I ended up taking a ton of pics as it is so pretty up there, I narrowed it down quite a bit for posting, but still have a lot, so may take a few days to get them all posted. I have a few pics from the RIP itself, but if you want to see more pics of the actual ride- keep an eye on the NBDSC site as I am sure they will be posted there.
Setting up camp ad MaineDR's place: ![]() This is our spot- trailer up with 3 bikes- Jerry wanted to use the KTM for the more technical Saturday ride and the DR for the "easy rid" Sunday; Even though I knew I would be riding mostly pavement, I took the wr as It fit in the trailer easier with the other two bikes than the SV: ![]() ![]() So any way I headed up planning to ride around northern Maine. r-charger and nag'em stopped and spent the night Friday on the way home from a two week ride to Newfoundland & Labrador- quite an adventure. Anyway they invited me to ride with them for the remainder of their trip home. So on Saturday I headed to..... ![]() CANADA. That's r-charger ahead of me, and nag'em behind me: ![]() Headed into New Brunswick and after a few minutes on the interstate, followed them up 105 along the St. John river- absolutely gorgeous scenery on a gently twisting road. No pics on the way there, but plenty on my solo trip back... which I will start posting tomorrow as it is getting late (for me) and back to work in the morning!

At the border the Canadian customs guy asked where I was heading in Canada..... ummm r-charger and nag'em's house.... never been there, not even sure what direction I'm heading..... so I holler back to nag'em- where am I going... she hollered back something I couldn't make out... The border guy says "she hollered something back- your good to go"
![]() Had lunch at Nag'em & r-chargers and visited for a bit. Headed down to the Marina to see their boat. ![]() while we were there a friend of theirs needed some help with the mast on his boat: ![]() I think nag'em is doing most of the work here:

I love taking pics, however when riding with shoein or other riders I worry about holding them up if I stop too often. Riding solo I could stop as and as long as I wanted without holding anybody up. Of course when I got back and showed shoein all my pics he asks "how come when I'm with you you never stop so we can see all these neat places?"

![]() ![]() ![]() No problems getting back to Maine- did not get lost at all. The speed limit on 95 was recently raised to 75 so I decided to check out if the little bike could do it....... nope- throttle open all the way 65 seemed to be the max. Interestingly enough, on the way up and back with the loaded trailer, we never got above 70 and were passing people constantly on that section. The clouds were very pretty back in Houlton and from the mud on shoein's KTM, it looks like he had a pretty good time: ![]() Brooksie was getting some help from The Pickle- ![]() ![]() And the bar was set up: ![]() To be continued with Day 2.....

Day 2 Northern Maine
Shoein headed back out on the dirt with the DR for the "easy day" and I headed out for a tour of Northern Maine- made a nice 150 mile trip around the block- absolutely beautiful scenery- my average speed was not so good because I stopped so often to take pics!

Great pics Lisa. Glad you got to see some of our NB sites. The Saint John River is nice along the 105. Moosie and I rode that home Sunday aswell. Good to see you guys again. It was an incredible weekend, as usual.
