Speaking of mounting brackets...

And what's in the box?

The test bench...

And the ultralight...

Patience young grasshopper ... Once the 640 comes to life, I will make sure it has the perfect tower

Thanks Pete, the ultralight is half the weight of the others and still has a stiffener on its back.
I am experimenting with color textures at the moment, JayBo got the roughest one, had no probs with dirt from what I have seen, these are less rough. I have found that even the matte varnish can create glare (at some weird angles) compared to the rough paint so I am going this way...
Also looking for 3M antiglare membranes for the RB screen, at the moment there is a 3M membrane similar to what the mobile phones have, removable so that it can be replaced. I am also testing some RB's without it to see the life of the screen without protection.

D,
I think the black mounting plate pictured above is exactly what I was trying to describe (with modifications to the top right mounting point).

Goody, still have the drawings

This is a very nice set up... 15 days... an HDB Rally Lite tower and the Aurora mounting bracket with an Mk1...
This bike will compete in the 24hrs Rallt Raid. She is a beauty... Obviously the office is a bit big, but at least there is some redundancy there
One of the amazing things, are the HDB lever switches which are amazingly easy to use without having to change your hand position. There are back up switches in the handlebar, in case the lever itself breaks in a fall, but then again with these HDB handguards it is highly unlikely ...

Enjoy...

Not sure that you have addressed the tripmaster redundancy sufficiantly

You mean everything that hangs from the bars? I have not measured it and can only make assumptions knowing the weight of the individual parts. I know that at the moment the rider has no problems with it. My rough guess would be 5-6 kilos easily (handlebars included). The front mask is an HID one, and it adds to the weight as well.
There are plans to make everything lighter, but we wanted to test this setup first, see how it performs and then move to other solutions/materials. HDB has a frame mounted setup, an HDPE kit etc, the same goes for the Aurora parts, so we will see how it performs and then change parts accordingly...

Till later D.

Of course,

This is the mask
http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktm-690-hid-x2-lighting-kit
Have not bought it from there, but that is the model.

The twin LED's are from ADVmonster (Vendor here) and both are the Model 60 (3600 lumens reported each).
http://stores.homestead.com/hstrial-...Categories.bok

We will be trying some light filters in them, LED's are way too bright and in the fog you really have to turn these off...

Offroadie, way too much information there... I don't think I could possibly handle it...

Later,
D.

FYI, I've ran the ADVMonsters in the Reno Rally, Baja Rally and all around. Probably close to 5k good dirt miles on them. No failures no problems.

Rally Blitz

Hey everyone. We finally finished v1.0 of our rally app for iphone. I'm going to start another thread (hope that doesn't violate the vendor policy) to get feedback and talk about future features and such. The videos I made are a bit corny, but functional is the goal here. I hope at least this app gives rally world another option for a device. More to come...
