I used two Hella Projector lights, same as on the KTM 690 RR, best light I've ever had on a bike! The lights came with a paper mould to make your own bracket. My tower and navigation bracket are old school, steel bracket welded to the frame en the navigation tower is made of 4mm aluminium.

Handle bar width

What bar width do most of you have with a full rally control(s) setup? My 350 exc came with a 32" bar, but I cut it down to 31" for single track riding I do.

60mm Module Low Beam Lamp998570001
60mm Module High Beam Lamp998570021
60mm Module High Beam Lamp with Position Lamp998570031

These are the typical Hellas used on the KTM 690/450 RFR.
I have the 90mm (almost the same) version on my 690R with Linx fairing. The power output is superb and can be upgraded to xenon for more substantial dough. Otherwise they are quite cheap for the quality.
I plan to test in my future project the cheap Chinese xenon projector that the eBay is full of and report back.

These are the ones I've used on my bike! They were used on the Aprilia Factory Rally bike as well. Bear in mind that the low beam and high beam modules have very different shape, the brackets are therefore not the same. The units are also a bit heavy and quite large too. And at 65 Watts each, I haven't tried to power them both at the same time..

Cheers, the LED looks awesome but at 500E per piece it will take ages till the price will drop and 1000E to kit a bike with lights is KTM Factory Team territory not privateers or amateurs.

Ho there.

I'm thinking of rebuilding the front of my -06 BMW Dakar... I have been riding a few roadbook rallies using a hand driven roadbook holder and would like to expand the activity.
During this off season I'm changing the OEM front forks and triples to a set from a Yamaha YZ426F, and it would be nice pushing it a bit furher. The original dash are showing signs of giving in and I have got a Trailtech Vapor as replacement instrument. I came across a MD roadbook holder and ICO at a fairly good price.

Now my (main) question are; will the original frame mount be able to hold the weight of a nav-tower? The weight of the original dash, lights etcetera are just below 4kilos (8,8lb US). Keep in mind the bike will not run any desert or hard enduro stretches but mostly gravel roads and trails. It needs to be street lethal.

Thanks
The Rookie :)
