No bike this week

Hi Gang.

I will be there on Tuesday, but not one two wheels. Had a potentially bad get-off on 680 on Friday. In the diamond lane, guy pulls into me and down I go doing 70-75. Ouch.

Slid to a stop, stood up and took inventory. Fuck, this is going to hurt tomorrow. Road rash on arms and legs, hip, and a slightly broken thumb. Bike took it like a champ. Crash bars lived up to their name and are a bit lighter than they were before.

All things considered this could have been much worse. People stopped in time. The guy who hit me stopped. Insurance will take care of the damages (bike and rider) and I learned a couple of lessons:

1) It can happen in a moment. Be as prepared as you can.
2) Spend more on ATGATT. Hope you don't need it but when you do....
3) There are some good, helpful folks out there
4) Even good guys JUST DON'T SEE US! So be extra careful

Here's some of the aftermath:

So, time to go shopping for new crash bars, jacket, boots, gloves, helmet and (this time) leather pants. Alll were destroyed along with a bit more skin than I would have liked.

See you all Tuesday. First round is on me. If there was ever a reason to celebrate, this is it.

Peace

Kevan

There are some good people out there.
What is a "slightly broken thumb"? Have it fully checked out. I broke my right thumb (of course I'm right handed) and was in a cast past my elbow for 6 weeks. Then 4 months of physical therapy to get my thumb and wrist motion back.
THUMBS ARE REAL IMPORTANT DIGITS.
Hope for a full & quick recovery.

Gaaah! Kevan!
Glad you escaped relatively OK. You did buy a lottery ticket already, right? Your gear looks pretty chewed up!
I'm hoping to see you all on Tuesday.

And once again, today I see a sportbike fly by with twig-like girlfriend on the back both wearing shorts, flipflops and she has on a tube top thingy. Makes me glad Kevan wasn't wearing his tube top thingy this time.

Hey, meet up is tomorrow.
