Great fun and KTM Hooligans

Hi Gang.

Great to see the turn-out last night. Good food, beer and stories. I think we should do this weekly, forget this monthly stuff. Heh.

The only down side as usual was being so far away from the folks at the other end of the table. Couldn't hear all their stories.

Great to see the Steve's, and the KTM Hooligans, and all the rest.

Coolest Ride Award: Berkeley Pete

Honorable Mention: SLO's DR650

Looking forward to next week or month or whenever.

Be Safe.

Kevan

BerkeleyPete's bike definitely was awesome! One of the things I love about this crowd, we all respect every bike for what it is!

How come everywhere I go, KTMs are referred to as hooligan bikes? ;)

Hey Low.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I didn't mean the bikes were hooligans, just the riders.

Sorry not to have made it Tuesday evening and been there to meet you all.

I am new to the area and still trying to get my new home/apartment and garage sorted. I got caught/delayed in the garage getting everything, MC bikes, Mtn bikes, surfboards, tools and work benches all positioned and packed away.

As much as this sounds totally inappropriate that I would put my garage ahead of the Pyramid Brewery, I reluctantly choose this as the decision. Especially as I am needing to get gear away and now looking for a job.

So now all packed away and looking for employment and I interested to hear when the next Meet And Greet opportunity will come.

Approximately here (about 1 mile east of the words "Pine Ridge"--can't seem to get the place marker to work):

View road to Balch Camp in a larger map

Did you take the road all the way between pine flat res. and 180? That road was trickier than I thought it would be this spring. Lots of big ruts, and some slippery mud around there. Nice area.

I think we're talking the same road--that day we rode from our camp near Hume Lake to Sequoia Lake on 180, then caught dirt roads (and some single lane disintegrating paved sections) all the way down to the Kings River, crossed the older bridge and went up to Balch Camp, then back to the newer bridge, had lunch, and rode back up. It was about 6000' in elevation change each way, close to 90 miles.

Parts of the dirt had been sprinkled with ball bearing gravel, and there were some sandy sections as well, but no mud, and the ruts have been rounded off pretty well by now. The cows were a little intimidating though...they're freakin' HUGE. We had fun playing tag on the return leg. Tried to handicap my son by making him ride the XT225...didn't work.

Yeah, that sounds like the same road. Black rock road (from Balch camp) is a fun one, though paved.
