I won't be heading over to Speisekammer tonight. See you all soon.

I spoke with Linda a little while ago.

Ben hit a patch of black ice and when he went down he slid into an oncoming military vehicle.

Linda said that Ben was not religious and didn't want a ceremony.

She said to thank everyone for their concern for her - she is well cared for.

We toasted - Humbly

Just two East Bay inmates tonight - A toast to our fallen one, and to better times.

Speissekammen

Hi Gang.

Just curious. Did anyone make it to Speissekammen? I know that I wouldn't have been up for celebrating if I had made it. We should consider something special for next month. Something to celebrate Ben's life. I can't tell you how much I miss him.

Peace

Kevan

I wasn't feeling it. I was thinking the same thing about doing something special. I'm not sure what that would be yet (other than having it an Alaska ).

It's been a rough couple of days.

Yeah.

I am thinking we all meet for a really good cup of coffee on the Dalton Highway. Say late August?

I am in.

gringostd and I did go to Speisekammer last night. The above photo was from the outside. It was nice to chat and we had a few beers talking about Ben, rides, etc. I'd like to propose we visit this venue again once things get back to normal. I am certainly up for a memorial ride / donation to anything that gets set up in Ben's name.

I'm really sorry you're hurting right now, Andrew. I wish I could say/do something to make it go away. Unfortunately that pain is the price we sometimes have to pay when we have really special people in our lives.

I, too, was thinking that Ben deserved a Meet and Greet of his own. Maybe things will be easier if we can all get together?
I dunno... I'm up for whatever the collective group decides. A ride, coffee, dinner, all of the above...whatever.

I say it's about time to pay a visit to the bear. Since the bear really liked Ben, As seen above. And it was the closest thing we had to a group ride. It was more of a picnic then Anything else. Ben said that he liked the place since the beer was cheep and that it wasn't super packed so we could hear each other talk. It's time to visit the bear, It's time to goodbye and farewell to Ben.

The Bear

Sounds good to me too. Maybe we try to do a group ride up there from the Berkeley / Oakland area?

I think that's a good idea, that was a good night, I remember hearing some Ben stories about Alaska and WMRS rides.

Hah! I was just thinking both of those things. I think this time we need to bring some good food and a couple big thermoses of strong coffee. And I'll try to keep the fork oil in my forks.

That was a great day, it would be a fitting spot to send a loud cheer Ben's way.
