sounds good. I was going to head back to my little house on the prairie in Oklamocha, but a couple of days ago it was 111 degrees. i can cool my heels for another week or two.

i've been doing some morning breakfast runs to the park on the river between Port Costa and Crockett, thru Tilden and then all little roads. Used to live in Crockett, had the old grocery store across the street from the volunteer fire department. or right down the steps from Rosy's you and i oasis bar where all good friend's meet. always have enjoyed those 2 towns

There's a good man! 65 degrees and foggy is summer enough for anyone.

August 10th?

Fan-super-tastic! I come back on the 10th from my Nor Cal- Oregon- Idaho trip that I am on now. Riding on the back of ahhh....uh....a...well....a bright yellow Gold Wing Trike. I have mucho pack room, a huge back rest and even arm rests with Harley foot platforms! Long story why I am on the back and not riding.

I've been knitting a scarf back there Naw. I did take 16 gig of pics and videos though.

I'll check back on this thread later.

One possible route from the Wall:

Down into Tilden, out Wildcat Canyon Road, then Bear Creek Road, to Alhambra Valley Road, to Alhambra Ave, to Franklin Canyon, to McEwen Road into Port Costa. Almost 30 miles, no freeways.

That would be my choice. I would add, south from the wall, left on south park drive to get to Wildcat. Lookin forward to it. . . .

So.... I ride these roads all the time, but I'm not familiar with this imaginary 'wall'. Can someone please help me out?

It's the pullout most used by motorcyclists on Grizzly peak road. ~1 mile southeast of Centennial drive, on the right- the first decent sized pullout you get to from that direction. It has the remnants of a stone wall covered with graffiti there, thus the name.

I think even most of the remnants of the wall are gone now. I was wondering when the first person would ask me "what wall?"

I've been going to the wall for over 20 years and I hear its been a motorcycle hang out spot for much longer than that.

It's a good route to Port Costa you have planned- that's the way I normally go on a Sunday. I don't think I've ever been there in the evening. My bike is already in Concord, so if I make it tomorrow I will come from that direction and miss the ride out to the warehouse. Hope to see you there though.
