Made it home around 6:45, safely. I got behind a thundering heard of cruisers coming down 80, lost Dillard and never got back with the group. When I got to the traffic light intersection at Marion, I turned right and went through old fort to I40, then #9 through chimney rock, lake lure, Columbus, and then I26 back home.

Great route! I have never been in some of those areas of western NC and Tennessee.

If you all want to ride to Mt Mitchell, it would be better weather on top and less traffic if the route stopped there in the AM, before the crowds and thunderstorms appear.

Thanks for leading Todd, and everyone else for waiting on me.

Great Day

Made it home about 6:30ish

Thanks Todd for leading it was a great time! I really need to work on dirt skills though

Great to meet and get to ride with some great riders.

Somehow I lost you guys at 80 and BRP. Rode around a bit to look and then hit the BRP to head home. I got stuck behind two VERY slow cars on 80 with no way to get around in the last 5-6 miles.

Nice photos!

I replied over there about the ride.

Alright! Glad to hear everyone had fun!! I too had a lot of fun!

Thanks for all the photo's everyone posted up. Andrew had some good ones too on his new phone (post em up if you can Andrew). Loren, that high tech camera you got takes a pretty good photo! You've got the job!

Richard, I don't know what it is about this photo, but the proximity of the road sign along with me standing in a hole but still being taller than a horse... Surely, that photo is making me look taller than I am.

Sorry we got seperated on 80. I know a lot of people weren't use to riding up around that area, but I am very familiar with that road. My heavy throttle hand was proof of that. Loren peeled off when we crossed 26 but Pete, Andrew and I went on into Hendersonville to get a bite to eat. That's when the cops pulled us over! No, not due to my throttle control!

I see there's some photog hanging out on 80 now, takin' action shots ala Killboy. He hasn't posted up anything yet, we'll give him a couple days to catch up.

I posted my pics on the Day Trippin thread.

I had never been to downtown Hendersonville so that was a nice treat. And the reuben I had at Flanigan's was a pretty serious sandwich. I will definitely be stopping by there again.

And what was the website of the guy on Highway 80?

ETA: This guy?
