I'm wondering why the SC DMV doesn't take the MSF passing certificate as a waiver now, but it seems that they do for Cox Harley Davidson.

Money.

Most other states accept the MSF course.

FYI: the South Carolina DMV's test is based off of the MSF skills test.

Back when I took the 'road' test, the DMV used the cones that were spaced incredibly difficult. As a matter of fact, I had a Gold Wing at the time with a non-OEM windshield (very tall screen and I learned since then that I would rather look over the screen than through it). The windshield tilted back so much that it was impossible to turn the handlebars enough to make it through the cones, no way to pass the skills test with the set up that they had at the DMV, or else borrow someone else's moto.

I got a tip that the DMV in Taylors was using the MSF skills test so I went over there and had absolutely no trouble with it. I really would hate to see Dianne take the test on the Wing unless she started driving it a lot, and I just don't see that happening.

The one in Greenville off of Saluda Dam and 25 supposedly sets it up based on the size of your bike. I took mine on the Husky, the only thing I had to repeat was the panic evasion because the lady didn't like my stoppie...
