Maintenance DVD for 800GS
I looked for a JVB DVD on maintenance here and didn't find one, so I'm guessing one isn't available yet...?
Any plans in the future? What has everyone else been using? I am a longtime rider, but rarely do my own work. The 800GS seems quite a bit simpler than the 1200's I've had, so I thought I would try to start doing some things on my own. Rather than search everything subject by subject, i was hoping for a consolidated source. Thanks much, John |

Thanks.
Thanks I got one of these this morning. I had seen the globeriders one before, but another rider told me that it's really just a TT advertisement, not much of a maintenance DVD and I took it at that.
After reading additional comments on it, it might just be exactly what I am looking for. Thanks again. John If you think slavery was bad, wait until history judges abortion. Why do I carry a .45? Because they don't make a .46! |

I just bought a BMW DVD from my dealer for $105. I don't know if the ones on e-bay are the real thing.
I've used DVD for other bikes and atv and they work great. I guess I just don't think like the Germans because the content arrangement and index is really confusing. It takes me forever to find something. It is written kind of like the instructions for BMW and S&W Motech accessories. |

Last I heard from JVB was when I supplied him with a couple of wiring diagrams and he mentioned he would like to do an F800 DVD but hadn't got around to it.
I really hope he takes on the project. As for the Factory service DVD and an Ebay find, I doubt their will be much of a difference other than say around $90 bucks. The reason there are so many available from Ebay or for free is that some dealers won't supply it or don't care. The only difference may be that the version you get isn't the absolute latest version though there likely are not going to be many differences. The Haynes manual is ok, but nothing more nor less. |
