Wet N.A.D.S.

Today the N.A.D.S.* decided to get a ride in, despite the weather. Much silliness ensued!

We started in the finest break in the weather for a few days. It rained on the ride, and I got home to news reports of record rainfall for the month May in various places around the country.

I'll let the pics tell the story.

First we went up Linton Hill, then attacked a steep hill that's now had ditches cut across it. It was after that that the silliness started:

Padmei, Padmei, don't go throwing away a perfectly good motorcycle:

The Boy motoring upstream:

Ummm:

Retreat!

Once we were all back out of there again, we decided to go home via the "short" route.

And there my photographic exploits ended for the day.

Jenni's first reaction to the ride was "but you bought the pruning saw and chainsaw just for rides like that!".

Yeah. Must remember to take them next time.

Yeah, me too!

A spare tube and tyre levers are no good for hacking away pine trees!

Great fun today guys cheers. Got home a wee bit cold but smiling. Having trouble walking now after twinging my hammy when the bike flipped over frontwards on carnage hill, or is it still padmeis hill? Anyway padmei caused the carnage. Padmei, when you crest a hill try and keep riding. Doing a star jump and yelling woohho as you leap off the bike while it is still moving is not really the correct technique to use no matter how happy you are that you have made it to the top.

Hilarious day.

In all fairness, I never used the word "short"...

Who knew there'd be trees down. In a forest. After high winds and rain...

Top Tip: Riding gravel is usually easier AFTER it's been extracted from the river, crushed & made into a road

Good stuff!

Cheers

That creek ride looks like a lot of fun. I'll make sure to leave my bike at home next time in Nelson!
