Behind Bumble Bee - take II

This is a short section between Bumble Bee and Cleator, AZ. I tried this back in April but because the water levels were a little high and I was riding solo, I decided to turn back. (First attempt can be found HERE) It's haunted me ever since and today, I took advantage of the cooler weather and finished it!
Since I got stuck in April heading upcanyon, I decided today to hit it from the upper end and see how far downcanyon I could get. I've looked at the topos but still can't figure out the name of this section of creek. The nearest I can come up with is Bill Arp creek joining Castle creek and eventually the Agua Fria in Black Canyon city. There are 9 creek crossings in just a few miles...
Crossing #1.

A small rainstorm was chasing me down...

This guys headin' for higher ground...

Crossing #2...

Crossing #3...

More pics in a bit...

Crossing #7... this is where I turned back last time from the other side...

More to come...

Trail shot...

Crossing #8... oops, missed it.
Crossing #9...

Somebody must have been lost 'cause I got buzzed by the search and rescue helicopter a couple times and passed a couple S & R trucks as well as a couple sheriff vehicles.

Along the ride, I saw two gardner snakes, 7 or 8 slither crossings and this guy! He was cold and slow and didn't even rattle at me. They're coming out guys! Watch out.

A look back behind where I'd come from and the storm was hot on my heels...

And by the time I'd gotten to Black Canyon city, i was thinking about heading back so I could go ride in the rain...

Hey Eddy,
Did Dillon tell you that a bunch of the guys want to take up a collection and get you new packing for your muffler? (I'm not joking)

DirtKlod,

Did that come from Cleator and end at Bumble Bee road about a mile from the black top? Some of that looks like the Turkey Creek stuff that we did on Saturday. If not maybe you could show me that trail in a couple of weeks.

That's the one. It probably looks funny 'cause I did it backwards. When I do it again, I'll probably do it the same direction as going up some of those hills the northbound direction could be a real challenge on a KLR. Either that, or I'll ride the 250 instead.

I only get to ride on the weekends when there's no family stuff planned. Otherwise, I'm out pretty much any weekday... 'cept pretty soon, the kids will be out of school for summer break and if I want to go riding, I'll have to come up with a baby sitter.

Sounds like a good day to start in Mayer, come down Blue Bell to Cleator and then down the Canyon to come out below Bumble Bee!

I was in AZ this last Feb, drove from Phoenix to Prescott in a Honda car. I was lickin the windows the whole time seeing all those trails to ride. My pops was telling me about all the hell he raised as a kid living out there, camping and such.

Sure would like to get down there and ride, specially when our mountains are snowed in.

I do sled too though

thanks for the pics
