Took a ride to Shelburne Falls, MA for lunch on Sunday. This is the bridge of flowers, formerly a trolley bridge, with the road bridge in the foreground.
No they wouldn't let me ride across the Bridge of Flowers. . . .

And for a really adventurous tight twist, follow 221 from Linville up to Blowing Rock. It paralllels the Parkway but takes about twice as long.

just south of Boone, about af fun as it gets on pavement.
