Kim and Mikes Most Excellent 2011 TAT Tour; The Frostbits Return
So OK, you may recall that way back in 2008 Kim and I rode through much of Alaska and some of the Canadian Yukon. You can read and stare at pictures here. While there we saw all sorts of great things, and even met some super nice people. Take these two...
![]() That's Mr. and Mrs. Frostbit, or in reality Tracy and MaryLee. We've been threatening to ride with them ever since we left Alaska and we even did once in Nova Scotia when they were on this side of the continent. That's where this picture was taken, at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. Well, they're coming along on this TAT ride with us. So, hold on folks because this one's gonna be fun. NH and AK collide in Jellico, TN to have some fun on the TAT. More pics soon!If you want to follow along with us, we hit the trail on June 2nd, and you can follow our progress in real time on this map: http://spotwalla.com/embed.php?id=2c934dd06cd115901&width=600&height=600&scale=on&zoom=default Until later!

So What Are Kim and Mike Riding?
So what are we riding the TAT with. Hmmm....? Well I'm a confirmed KTM guy and there's a 690E waiting in the garage raring to go. Kim has her Suzuki DR650 from the Alaska trip. Should we take those guys?
Nah....... Let's take these two little fellas. ![]() Twin 2009 KTM 250 XCF-ws. We're pretty good at falling down and who wants to pick up the big guys when we can pick up lightweights. Here's a pic of Kim with her little one. Now all I have to do is make them TAT worthy. More to come on that soon.

Count me in... can't wait to see how this turns out.
As if we weren't amped up enough already... you two go and start a ride report two weeks before we hit the trail... all the sudden I'm feeling weak, very weak. We are very much looking forward to meeting up with the ultimate adventure duo for a little slosh in the mud. ![]() ML will be riding a beautifully outfitted WR250R and I'll be on a 650 Dakar that I used to be rather fond of until I found out that everybody else was going with the "light is right" philosophy. ![]() Does anybody in the Toledo area want to trade their 250 for a 650 before June?

I'll certainly enjoy reading your ride story------if I ever road the TAT again---I'd do it on a 250 for sure.
I rode a KLR on the Eastern part--and a Husky TE610 on the Western Part---and they did well-----but a 250 is so easy and fun to ride--especially the WR with it's extremely wide ratio 6-speed. About the only true dual-sport where they got it right. Mark BigDog
