Don't forget that modern oils will tear up a new cam. When replacing it you need to run a proper break in oil. As far as the cam's being made in China- Has anyone measured one to see if it is in spec? If it is in spec the next step would to have the metal checked to see if it is the proper hardness. Without knowing these two things it is all here say if they are bad cams or not.

This "Camspiracy" is interesting but some facts would make it even more interesting. So Like Slash2man said "how do you tell the difference" does the chinese cam have red lobes?

I don't get it but your mileage reminded me of a friend that said he had a 454 barreled, dual overhead camshaft, Holly big throat carburetor. Some Micky Thompson valve covers. Some Craiger SST cheater slicks. A turbohydromatic limited slip transmission . . . boys, I've got your doors! A genius bridge to the genius song he wrote "Supercharged Steamroller"

I haven't watched it since it was on prime time and I didn't watch it much then. Sorry I missed that one.
There's some 8mm of Elvis back stage real early on in his career and the fans are swamping the back way out. He tells his band something like, boys, it's going to take a 454 or better to get out of here! Enjoy that bev! |

I will tell you whats wrong with the cams. on the lobes for the right hand cylinder they did NOT grind the draft , this is the angle on the nose of the lobe which makes the follower spin, I have looked at all the cams from motobins, and some from BMW GB, and the ones that I have, that is about 20 cams and they are all scrap. you can see it with your eyes if you hold the cam up to the light and look across the top of the lobes. also the ones from china are in a thick yellow/ opaque plastic bag .

What's your problem with Moorespeed Supershaft? He builds beautiful high performance airheads, the guys who have work carried out by him are blown away by the quality of the work and parts used and everything does just what it says on the tin. His engines have won the national championship producing a genuine 100 BHP at the back wheel and his desert racer stood up to the challenge in Africa. On top of that he's a great guy to talk to on the phone.
About time we saw some of your work and achievements? Lets see if you can match these - ![]() ![]()

What's up accusing me of having a problem with moorespeed. I do not have a problem with moorespeed. Repeat: I do not have a problem with moorespeed.
I am asking questions about something new to all of us. Is it OK to ask a question? I hope so because I am going to ask the same question over again since it didn't get answered. @ms: Thanks for pointing out the problem and how to identify it but how is it you came to the conclusion that they are made in China? It's about time I show some of my work and achievements? Why Rob? I think I go on about my work enough as it is. Photos? I have never taken photos my whole life except for a few parts and bikes for sale. I have never had the inclination. According to some here on the idiotnet, it's the narcissist in me although it's hard for me to imagine a narcissist with no pictures of himself or his work. The only pictures I have to my name are ones people give me. I don't have a scanner. A PM'ed apology would be nice since you have a long history with me of trying to stir shit up. I don't need it. And you had been doing so well lately! supershaft screwed with this post 05-18-2011 at 02:33 PM |
