Laugh 42k +

The bike was new in October 2009. I have ridden four laps around the North and South Island of New Zealand and countless weekends here and there. Just had it's 40k checkup and had the sprockets and chain replaced along with all the engine bits checked out. A few minor mods to make the sub-frame stronger under full load. Like all bike this F8 has had it's fair share of problems but never any full-on majors. Leaky rocker cover when brand new but 25 cents worth of washers to park under the rocker cover bolt heads solved that pretty quick. I've been very pleased with this BMW and I have owned and still own others.
Distance is in kilometers. ( roughly 26,000 miles)

28,659 as of this morning. Experienced most all the issues that others have but have never been stranded and it runs perfect every time.

9300 in a year, minus a 6 month Alaskan winter. Only problem has been a flat on the rear.

32,000 miles & counting. Many issues & still accumulating, mostly minor and covered by warranty but still way too many for the price tag. Eventually i will need/want another bike, not sure what i'm going to get, but chances are very good it won't be another bmw...

Very similar to my experience. Just coming up to 31,000. Too many issues given the price and supposed build quality, despite them for the most part being covered by warranty. The only doubt I have about buying another BMW in future is the reliability, every other aspect about it, I love.

WOW that is inspiring! Did you replace your stator/rotor, fuel pump/filter?
Any major issues?

4 months old 12,000km. I ride this thing everywhere. I have a few problems but nothing that the warranty isn't going to cover I hope.

Interesting thread now that the bikes are getting a few years/kms on them.

Mine is a 2010 model, 90,000kms(56,000 miles) under its wheels.

Only serious issue has been the replacement of the fuel pump, but not the controller, at 80,000kms.
Have had to replace the steering head bearings at about 60,000kms, and the usual bent rear shock bolts top and bottom, rear brake pads once, 3 sets of chain and sprockets, and that's about it

No complaints, it is a very good bike for what I do, which is touring worldwide places.

Cheers

Chris

I'm at about 60,000km now, 2 sets of steering head bearings and one chain/ sprocket set so far. No major issues, just keeps rolling along... I'm pretty easy on equipment though.
