I actually received two calls today from (NJ & CA) iMarine today that the 650T was shipping. Can't beat that type of customer service. Looks like mine will arrive on Friday. Total cost for the unit was $617.47 delivered UPS Ground from iMarine. Not affiliated.

I was bad last night.

Had dinner with my daughter. She was asking how my recent motorcycle trip went.

"All great except for my GPS. The batteries in my 478 died halfway through the trip and I had to resort to a map. Ugh. No problem, though, as Mom ordered another battery for me and it was waiting at home when I got there."

But.

As my birthday is coming up.....

Is your point that the 600 should come with CNNA and a mount for the same price?

I'd love to have a TwoNav Delta with NAVTEQ maps on it for $600 but the CompeGPS folks think it's worth 650€ ($920) w/ TeleAtlas maps.

I don't think we have it so bad.

Not necessarily. This is just the internet and we like to type.

Garmin is doing solving two problems with their "in the box" offering:

- not selling folks something they don't need (what if I want a motorcycle mount, but they give me a boat mount? for example),

- reducing the selling price, but then hitting you with a little gotcha when you get the stuff you need to round off the package.

But the price of map software has dropped a lot in recent years (I remember paying several hundred $ for Europe maps years ago). Their mount isn't too expensive, either.

super crappy cell pictures.... Montana 650 with car mount.

MC mount to arrive next week....

First nice surprise... it came with a charger and that charger has all kind of international plug adapters. you just switch the end of the charger for whichever country you go to. that's nice.

haven't played much but menus are intuitive, screen is huge compared to my 60csx, very responsive.

I bet I'll get a flood of questions now

Can the user turn off the auto-recalculation feature so the GPS does not automatically recalculate a route if the user goes off route when navigating a planned route?
