Not that I'm aware of, in the gps.

Got my RMA'd 600t I was talking about from a few pages back.

Is there any known issues with Radio or Bluetooth devices interfering with satellite reception? I'm still having issues with satellite dropping out occasionally... I run a Chatterbox on my helmet for comms and music streaming, and it seems to have a noticeable effect on the Sat reception when I use it.

The Scala G9 was reported as causing interference. Maybe yours too.

Is that a bluetooth based device?

I don't know. I have a G4 myself and have no problem with it.

I did some additional testing, and preliminary results indicate that when using a Chatterbox Slim, with Bluetooth streaming with an iPhone 4s it interferes with the Satellite receptions.

I haven't has any issues with the chatterbox completely off, so I still need to narrow down if its the Bluetooth streaming, or just the chatterbox being ON that causes problems.

I use a Sena SMH10R & an SM10 that transmits Stereo from my Ipad mini & mono from my Montana. Have no issues with sat reception.

Does anyone know the maximum power consumption of Montana? I tried Garmin support all ready but they didn't know.

Garmin makes a rugged mount that comes with a 2A fuse in it.

In another thread about the minimum power consumption in various states, the largest amount was about a quarter-amp (247mA). The Montana probably needs more power when calculating a route or searching POIs. I asked in that thread about maximum power consumption and the question remained unanswered.

Update #1: Commute to work this morning (~50 miles) left the Chatterbox off completely. Had no issues with sat reception.

Interesting experience on a ride yesterday with my 650T. It is in an AMPS mount on the handlebar. I will often use it to take a snapshot of something interesting in front of me, or when moving.

I saw a bunch of guys harvesting honey from some hives across a T intersection where I was stopped, so I decided to take a picture of that.

I have a shortcut to the camera app in the main screen area. I clicked that, and the camera app opened, but before it had gotten to the point that the view from the camera was displayed on screen, I tapped the + button to start zooming in. It was either that, or coincidence, but the Montana instantly shut off, as though it had never been powered up. Bam. Off.

I powered it back up, which took some time because it went through the whole load everything process, then opened the camera again, waited until the camera view was on screen, zoomed in, then took the picture. No incident.

Ok thanks. Max 2 A might be accurate enough for me.

I'm sure we'll never agree on this------but I was never so glad that garmin discontinued support for my software and my gps. All they've done is screw things up the last few years--------for my use anyway-------------not yours--------but mine.
I've never seen a company send out so many products that weren't ready yet.

Like I said------it's obvious we'll never agree on this---and I'm not going to argue why.

I'm sure I wasn't the first person to put a gps on a motorcycle----but I was the first one I saw have one----and it was probably 2 years before I seen another person have one-------but I don't guess that means nothing--except I'm old.

Another company who is very good at releasing products not quite ready for release is GoPro. I had a Wifi backpack for a long time before the app was released...

I never used Mapsource as I had a Lowrance iFinder before buying my first Garmin. I have used Basecamp for many years now and don't really understand what all the problems are with using it. It works good for me.

Back to the topic, my rugged mount seems to have a pin that is stuck in. The center one is not sticking out as far as the others. Has anyone ever sent in their rugged mount to be fixed?

Is there a way for me to make the Montana show the track line wider? My old eyes are having a hard time picking up the difference between a track and map info.
