Finally caught up with the ride report!

You have been an inspiration, Radioman. So much of an inspiration that I finally decided to do a ride here in my country alone for around 2000 kms and had a great time!

Happy New Year!

Mark,

I discovered your ride report a few weeks back and have been glued to it ever since. I did not rush reading, wanted to really take it all in, thoroughly immerse and understand everything you have been through, bad and good.
It now feels as if I had lived part of your life, understand and relate to the loss of your beloved wife, though I have lost mine after 25 years, not to death - it feels almost same. I admire your strength and faith in recovery.
You are such a uniquely rare person who understands and knows how to appreciate the gifts of life, who had power to raise from the ashes of suffering, rebuild your life and make the best of it . You really live by your words and teaching others too.
Thank you so much for sharing, may your rides always take you to amazing places and meeting the best people!

Happy New Year!

Nice 2008 pic! I see Fisherman off to the right with his Bumble Bee.......in '08 that would have been pre-heart transplant on the bike.

It's taken me a few weeks to catch up, but I have enjoyed all the photos, and connections that you have made with riders and others along the way. I was especially touched by you spreading a friends ashes in Antarctica! Ride safe and enjoy every day.
HAPPY NEW YEAR...... and many more to come.

Off smelling the flowers for a few days and off to page two it is

Had a great couple days on El Calafate !! Spent some more time with my Antarctic shipmates who are also traveling. and Also met up with "younger" Ollie who is an 18 British guy who is on an 8month ride to Alaska!!

The guy in the restaurant was funny..... I asked him to take our photo and he hammed it up about taking his photo....

Then we went out for dinner

Arnout and I took a walk in the bird reserve on the edge of town...

Lots of local birds including Flamingos

And Snipe (yup they are actually a real bird, not just a made up one )

Being in El Calafate... I am almost 1,000 KM north as the crow flies

I rode to El Chatlen to see Mt Fitz Roy.

Arrived to a cloudy, and grey afternoon. Settled in and was hoping for better weather

Lots more about this..... But I need some sleep, and will be back in a few days when I have internet again.
