Good Luck in OZ!

Mark,

Another great country under your belt and as usual you have some awesome pictures and writing. I really appreciate you taking us along daily. I really can't imagine all the work you are putting into this but I know I speak for many that we truly enjoy every installment. Looking forward to Australia. Safe travels.

Tim

Not sure where to start.... Started reading this journey from the beginning about 7 days ago. I have spent hours everyday reading this and I am now fully caught up 330 pages read in the past week.

What an incredible experience you have made the past couple years. It's great to see you are able to turn something tragic like the loss of Chris into something where you are helping the organization and able to speak to those going through similar situations.

By far one of my favorite Ride Reports I have read, in fact I was looking forward to getting home from my plans on Saturday night to open the ipad and continue reading this.

Just want to say I am following along and looking forward to future installments! If by some reason you ever make it through the states and are traveling through Iowa Dinner is on me!

Small Break in the riding

So While my bike is all packed up and being shipped to Australia, I will be taking a 2 1/2 week trip back to the US. I planned this long ago, as I want to continue my advocacy for Alzheimer's Disease.

I made it back to Portland yesterday after a 36 hour day literally. Had a cancelled flight out of Auckland, (found out as I arrived at airport at 3AM ). They rescheduled and rerouted me with bigger layovers, but I made it!

Left on April 14th at 6:45 Am----- Arrived Portland at 9PM on April 14th Crazy. Time traveling .

I will fly to Washington DC on Friday for the Alzheimer's Advocacy Forum through the following week. Very hectic schedule as I meet with some of the other Advocates from Oregon Tuesday Night, Local Congressional Office Visit on Wednesday, Volunteering at all day Alzheimer's Conference on Thursday and the flying cross country Friday. All for a worthy cause so I am glad to be able to do all this!!

Will land in Sydney second week of May. Hopefully Bike will be ready to pick up and get riding!!

Thanks for following along this journey that I am on.

Thank you for what you do from someone that has experienced this terrible illness first hand. My mom RIP. I was the one that looked after her and do applaud your efforts.

I suppose you think that is an excuse for missing the Alley Sweeper.

I can understand that. It's not every day you get to see such a fine collection of exotic machinery.

The day after I left Auckland the rain began to fall

Arriving in Oregon for a nice Spring weather! Was at my house sorting some gear, getting ready for the events of the week, and was able to get out for a nice little ride on my other GS.

Started my 1150GSA, Took a ride over the Tigard BMW to pick up a few parts I needed for my 800GS. Cheaper here in the US

Had a great conversation with a few other clients! and enjoyed the ride home!

Of course I leased my house out, so I am "homeless" and staying at a friends home! It is interesting being home as I connect with some good friends.Everyone is living their "normal " lives, busy with work, activities. The US news is full of the Boston tragedy, North Korea, US economy etc.

I am fortunate to be in the middle of this journey and wondering how I will reenter this familiar world that I have not been apart of for a long time.

Got a really nice email from one of the Alzheimer's Auckland Charitable Trust staff about my public talk. Sounded like people enjoyed the presentation, and the experiences that I shared helped some that heard them. The is super gratifying!
