Thanks Mate. Almost hit an Emu head on yesterday. Was just cruising along, and it pops into the middle of the road

Really surprised I did not have feathers on my Side cases as I sped past..... Yikes. Only had a moment to think ..... oh ...

Had a note on my bike from Joke (from Belgium) who I swam with, to see the Whale sharks. Joke (pronounce Jo Ka). Wishing me well.

On the road early.

Arrived Coral Bay in time to have Coffee and some Brekkie. Amazing water.

Australia is a huge place. crossing the country there are many signs warning of tired driving.

The road kill is everywhere. and with it are the Wedge Tail eagles. They are big, and seems to be slow to move off the food.... felt like I almost hit a few, as I had to duck

Heading south....

Passed the Tropic of Capricorn again for the last time here!

Saw a couple Blokes from QLD doing a loop of Oz while I stopped for fuel. have not seen too many bikes out on the road.

Then out to Monkey Mia. Stopped at Shell Beach. Guess it is one of two beaches in the world comprised of only shells. 6-9 meters deep.

Arrived Monkey Mia late afternoon.

Lovely beaches....and sunset.

At this point in my trip, I am am starting to get all my logistics in place to move on to South Africa. Takes a certain amount of time to realize that my time in Oz in coming to an end. Will enjoy the next 3 weeks..... but starting to think forward to Cape Town. Just cannot help myself as that it the next place I will go.

. More thoughts later.

Somehow I missed all those amazing camel shots. I'd ride 40.000 miles for a camel I have to be honest and say I am REALLY LOOKING FORWARD to Radioman in AFRICA ! The NZ and AU riding/people/culture has been terrific. Peace be with you, brother .

Can't believe you're almost in Perth. Been looking up the places you visit on google maps; you have covered some serious mileage since starting out in Sydney
Stay safe and keep posting.

Mark,
Monkey Mia is a special place. Did you get to pat the dolphins?

Wedge tailed eagles take to flight if you slightly vary the speed. if you stay on throttle they seem to stay put.

Stay safe out there. I am looking forward to SA with you.

cheers

Rob A.

Monkey Mia

What an amazing sunrise this morning. (Would have loved to have my bike in the shot but the small boat looks good!)

Awesome morning in Monkey Mia

Arose early and walked the beach. Not too many people around, but the Pelicans and the Dolphins swimming along the beach was really special

I was a tad worried about coming to Monkey Mia based on the photos I had seen of all the "tourists" lined up on the beach at feeding time. But there have been plenty of hours to enjoy the area with no crowds.

Pelicans swooping in

Dolphins just trolling for fish

But at 7:45 the "tourists" all arrive for feeding time.

Just walk away and go have some coffee...... the best part of morning was over

Nah... the kids love to feed the dolphins

Then I took a catamaran trip out to enjoy the area.

Including a stop at a black pearl farm in the bay. Was actually interesting hearing the process and history.

Had some dolphins ride the bow wake.

The contrasting water and earth colors were great!

a look back at the resort area.

With a bit of time relaxing near the beach.

What is cool is that as I was sitting on the beach.... the wildlife just keeps happening by.

Then this big Pelican shows up....

Because the guy behind me starts cutting up his catch of the day....

Was a great day hanging out in an amazing place...... I'm not real good just hanging out on the beach. But one day OK.....

Not a single bike photo in that last set, and yet they were amazing photos! Looks like a really great place to just hang out and chill

Mark, after many days of reduced production at work I have finally caught up. Your adventure is an inspiration. You have a fantastic attitude and I look forward to following along with you as you continue your adventures in Africa. Ride safe and have fun my friend.

Just stumbled apon this thread. Very cool.

I did outback 4x4 adventure tours for 12 years. Covered all the places I have seen in the last 3 pages. Perth - Rock-Alice-Darwin-Kimberly-Perth but even did Cape York-Arnhem Land-Oonadatta track- Canning SR + more.

Brought back a flood of memories looking at the pics. Even met my wife at Coral bay.

How long you staying in perth?
