2 years later

Mark
It was good to see you today and help with the new chain and sprockets. You should be ready to finish your trip home.

It was just over 2 years ago that you and Sam rode through on your way to Mexico.

We'll be up to see you soon. Take care, Skip

We didn't just work on bikes and stuff. After finishing we did a long shakedown ride to test Radioman's mad mechanical skillz. Lunch, Thai, yes.

Hey Mark.........Just sitting here this morning looking at your update on repairs to the bike and thinking that after all the places you have ridden in last two years, the different cultures, the lack of availability of things (from food, to fuel, to other basic supplies) and conditions of roads, it has to feel a bit weird having most anything you want just few blocks or few miles away. Not to mention lots and lots of people and lots and lots of traffic,. I understand you were in large cities regularly, but you spent a lot of time in remote areas. I know when I returned back to 'civilization' after my short trip to the way up northwest it was different being around so many things and so many people again. And that was only after 30 days, I can't imagine how more intense that feeling is for you!!!!

Anyway, welcome back and Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!!!!!!

A

A & A Happy Thanksgiving to you two.

Indeed arriving in LA just before a major Holiday has been an amazing experience. The mass of freeways (all in good shape) the cars, the people, the stores full of shoppers..... It's America. Consumer Nation.

Riding across to Arizona, I stayed on a main hwy just for the sake of time.... 400 Miles through the desert gives one time to think! But I go between tons of emotions and reflections, to just enjoying the ride!

The final leg of this journey is sure to be an interesting one, as I see old friends, meet new ones, and arrive back to the driveway that I started from some 925 days since I started out across the USA and Canada. Will be facing the end of this chapter for real, and then figuring out what will be next. Fortunately, I am not completely out of money, so I will have some time to finish the various videos that I want to complete (right Jorg , since I arrived in Cape Town, I was talking about finishing an Australia Video, but just could not get it completed ) also want to finish organizing, sorting, culling my photos to put into photo books, and then complete some presentation materials to share with others. Lots to do, as well as deal with some maintenance issues at home...... Seems like a couple month job to me... But will take it one day at a time.

Packing my gear early this morning. Will be making a short ride up to Phoenix area to see my Step Son, before making my way back to California and up along the coast to Oregon. Will have to watch the weather, as I see a cool weather system that might be bringing early Snow to Portland Area......

On The road Again!

On The road Again!
Still waiting on that Australia video.
You also have enough footage for a 30 min documentary on riding Africa.
Greetings from Cape Town, had a great ride today with Angela, David and Paul.
Jorg.
