We are and for Chapter IV
Just thought I would do a short update as I settle back into life at home. It has been an interesting, emotional, somewhat overwhelming time as I moved back into my house, and am facing the start of this new chapter.

I knew that coming back and restarting life would have it's challenges and difficulties, which is why I decided to return at the end of last year, so that I still had the finances to take time to transition. Having a "clean Slate" to start over is a great opportunity but also a bit daunting as well.

Still moving in things to my house, organizing, and trying to get myself settled, along with being up on Whidbey Island to finish some repairs that needed to be done, and also getting ready for my Presentations in the coming weeks!

With all the thoughts flooding my brain, and was feeling a bit overloaded. So I set up a couple boards to just put down some words that will help me clarify what will be important gong forward. This is a work in process and will evolve as time unfolds!

Also connecting with friends, family and others who have been following along. Everyone is asking "what are your going to do now?". My answer. I do not know yet.......... In the months ahead, I will be starting the process of answering that questions and reconnecting with a working world.

And of course, I have had to get out a do some short rides while I get some things done around my house.

Thanks so much for the PM's, emails, calls while I transition out of this Ride Report mode. I miss sharing the day to day life on the road, and plan on Updating over the next months as I figure out what is next.

Stay tuned ....

Mark,
I see that you did include Ride on one of your postits: Ride --> Live, Love, Share, Smile,... It must feel good to be moving back into your place, but daunting with the prospect of going back to work. I've been in major work mode the whole time you've been on your adventure, but tomorrow I'm going to work and asking for 1/2 time employment for next year. Not dribbled, but 6 months on, 6 months off. I'll either have a job, or not for next year. Your trip has been inspirational and making me think about the need for living life and not working so much.

Glad you're still thinking of getting some skiing in here. Late Feb should be good. Our snow pack is taking its time getting here. It should be good by then.

Mark, you have been my biggest inspiration to stretch my walls that I put up about our world. I have always been alittle timid when it has come to the thought of travel outside the USA. But threw your writing I've come to realize that as awhole people are genuinely good. I've followed along since about the time you went to watch the last shuttle launch. It has been a great read and I would buy a picture book of your travels. Thank you for sharing your love for your wife and teaching us all what the definition of "in sickness and in health" means. I had hoped to be in Portland on the date of your presentation, but had to delay trip one week. Really hope to meet you some day and shake your hand. Maybe if you come to roseville to see the school kids again as I live only 4 miles from there. Cheers to the best report ever.

So this is it??

Radioman, it was so great to follow your adventure and now when I log on there's NOTHING!!! I think you need to rethink retirement and go the opposite direction. Or maybe you can start a training school on "how to plan" your beginning/ride/adventure/end!!!

D.
