Grateful

Hi Mark,

I've been following along since way before you lost your wife and have been grateful to have someone like you to lead the way on my "recliner adventure". (I still ride but the best "rides" are now from there with help from others like you.) This ride report has been everything from very sad to very entertaining and I'm still tuning in to see what happens next. I admire your great attitude and know whatever happens, you'll do well with. Good luck!

Thank you and God Bless.

Gary

Gary. Thanks for following along. I will keep posting updates here until life gets settled again. Right now, time is flying by as I do some presentations, settle back home, and start to try to figure out what I will do next.

I have to say that has been a challenge returning home, but mostly because life here was with my wife, and now I need to move on alone, and get back to some type of work. I have given myself the extra time for this transition before I will need to take more drastic steps. Taking it a day at a time right now.

Stay tuned.

Alzheimer's Awareness

Hi Mark,

I saw this video on facebook of Seth Rogen testifying before Congress re: Alzheimer's. He makes some valid points and gets a few laughs, but it struck me that I used to have the same misconceptions about the disease that he describes...until I started following your RR that is.

Thanks again for sharing your journey

Bryan

Bryan,

Thanks for your post. Watched the video as it was posted everywhere. This disease needs so much more attention and funding. Celebrities get the news, which is the way our society works. I have heard so many very sad, yet compelling family stories, that not many see. Hopefully our government will keep increasing the research funding before it totally breaks our healthcare system

Thanks for following along!

If you are going to be in SoCal might I suggest a presentation at SDBMWMC.
Lisa and Simon did one last year to a packed house. I was out there a few days ago and mentioned to them about you and your journey and they thought it would be a good thing, that the regulars around here enjoy these type of presentations.
When Lisa and Simon did theirs it was free admission so I don't know if they sponsored them or what, but I'd be happy to find out more info if you are at all interested.SDBMWMC provided snack and refreshments as well.

Again, great rr and a pleasure to be acquainted with you even if it is only thru the rr! Thank you!

BTW, the serpent in Borrego is only one of almost 100 sculptures by the artist Ricardo Breceda out there all with free access to the public, they are great folk art! They were made possible thru the generosity of the late Mr. Dennis Avery.

Mark thanks for the update I wondered how it might feel settling in after such a long trip. Do let us know how you make out longer term, it has to be quite difficult to adjust.

Carl. Thanks for the comment. It is a transition to a new chapter. Maybe not easy, but it will happen, and I feel like I am gaining momentum as I face forward to the new challenges. Will update as I get more settled!

All is well as life continues to unfold!
