I will say, when they are new, the padding feels bulky. This soon settled down as it softens.

I also did a 20 mile hike in them. Very comfy for this as well. Means I have now ditched two pairs of other shorts. I have also used them as swimming shorts and not got arrested for indecency. I just hope my butt don't look big in them lol. Moto Skivees have my thumbs up!
Eddy, Thanks much for the endorsement!!!

All the best to you for safe and happy travels. We will be sending positive energy your way my friend.

Maybe he already has- haven't seen him around here since June.

Stealth mission?

Wow. Thanks for those that have posted recently and some that are still finding this Ride Report and reading from the beginning!

Thanks for the posts, PM's and contacts! As this has been the best part of my ride as I have made lifetime friends through the process.

Since my Ride finished December of 13..... This RR also was supposed to end with the ride. But I wanted to do one last post, as many are wondering where I am, what I am doing etc.

First off. I knew that once I returned from my epic journey around the world, there would be a big transition time. I purposefully kept my journey going until I rode into my driveway, and had not planned what was next, wanting to make the most of the experience without jumping ahead. I had not tried to monetized the trip, But had some cool companies sponsor me!! Thanks to Mr Ed's Moto's, Klim and Moto skiveez, for supporting my trip with Gear. Thank You again for this!!

The past 8 months have been a huge adjustment and transition as I got home, moved back into my house and starting trying to figure out what is next for my life. Chapter 4 if you will. The first 4 months were about resetting up, contacting with family and friends, and doing 9 presentations about my ride (which many attended and was fun to meet so many that were following along!

In April I traveled back to Washington DC to Advocate for Alzheimer's Disease

The photographer chuckled as I said I wanted to do a "radioman" jump.

Meeting with Senators and congressman and their staffers to continue and grow funding and awareness of the critical needs to find treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's Disease

Then starting a job search. It had been 21 years since I looked for work, and much has changed. I needed to revise my Resume (thanks for some editing and review from a few ADV'r and others), then the linkedIn profile updated and lots of networking. It was a challenge in many ways as I was not sure if I wanted to go back into the industry I worked before, or find a new path. Lots of soul searching and evaluation. Then I started networking with my old industry and had some immediate success with two job offers. But neither one really felt like the "right" fit for me. Was hard as others were great telling me I could do anything....... But too many "options" kind of overwhelmed my sensibilities. It also lead to a period of "depression" that really impacted me physiologically. At first I though I had some medical issue, so I started there. Then it became clear that I had reached a "crash" point in life. Fortunately, I had great supportive people near me, and within this ADV community that reached out to me, helped me when I was in the middle of this. I can say it was a very difficult time, but one that I learned first hand what depression can feel like. I gained some understanding and so much empathy for those that suffer long term from it. I never have felt like this, and have moved out of this and am feeling much better.

During July I had Dick and Diana visit during their "four corners of Uncle Sam" riding tour! Was able to ride for about 10 days, show them some great roads of the PNW and it was great!

Mt Rainier

Lastly, I continued on the job search. And I am happy to write that I interviewed for and was offered a job working for International Paper. I will be a sales and technical rep for the Western Preprint plant that produces Preprinted Liner board for corrugated boxes. I spent a great deal of my Flexographic selling days working in this particular Industry and always liked it. New work chapter starting September 8th. I will be spending a majority of my time in the LA area and some in Arizona!

Thanks for participating in my RR. I am sure to have a few more RR or adventures in the future.

My Ride Around the World has been an amazing experience that will be cherished throughout the rest of my life. Not sure if I will ever have this kind of opportunity in the future, but so glad I did! And I have made some lifetime friends from this ride, that have made my life richer!

PS: Still riding the F800 (here I was in the Hells Canyon area of Oregon!)

See you on the Road! Radioman
