International Taxi Service Reporting for Duty.
After months and months of prepping my X-Challenge for some seriously long distance, solo, dirt travel my plans changed 4 days prior to departing.
Originally I was going to ride down Baja, ferry to mainland, and meet up with my girlfriend visiting her parents and stay for a bit. Then I would travel back north to the Midwest to visit family and then do another ride ![]() But back to story...... Girlfriend ----- But I want to ride too![]() My X-Ch doesn't have passenger pegs. My SV650 would work but I couldn't take any gear as it's not equipped. Ring Ring........ Hey Mark, why don't you take my bike? ![]() Now in complete disclosure I'm not sure if the owner called me or if it was the bike. You see this bike has been known to and thrives in being ridden long, fast, and hard and has probably been feeling a bit neglected with all the time the owner has been spending on his GS. Plus why beat up your own bike when another one is given to you? ![]() So now I have a new plan. I picked up the bike the following day and have been running around getting it all packed up for both of us including carrying all her riding gear and full camping gear for two. Tomorrow I cross the border and head for La Paz where she'll meet me. We'll spend the next couple of weeks or so camping beachside and hopefully enjoying a couple days in the surf. Eventually I'll get the two of us back to LA before I head back out on the road. So with that I bid you adieu as I start the official Kiecker International Taxi Service. Thanks again to ChiTown for making this happen ![]() Rev Kiecker screwed with this post 06-21-2011 at 12:07 AM |

What lovely memories....
You did it mark! The bike looks great and ready for her next big adventure! But what's with the purple straps? To me the greatest reward of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so famiiar that it is taken for granted.... I wish you this. Bon Voyage my friends! Have a save journey! Enjoy ! See you both when you come back. Big smiles and big hugs to you both! ~ Nancy |

Is this what you get by being nicest guy on ADV?.... If I'm not mistaken this is not the first time someone has lent you a vehicle and wasn't worried about you taking it across international boarders. Have fun Dude, Subscribed!

Chi's bike was quite nice to me a couple summers ago - she likes playing chicken with stupid birds....
I still covet an Akrapovic exhaust after riding her for 8 days. I know she'll love Baja - enjoy.

Nice bike! I especially like the sweet patch job on the head. A nice reminder of Chloride Cliffs on a beautiful day
