yep had a E-09 front on the 950 not suited to that bike for sure (front skatey)not enough grip, went with a AC10 very good grip and wear.

ya i reckon the would be fine for the 990 too ,i ran a ac 10 on the front and was very happy with wear and grip, couldnt get a desert or a hp4 so ac 10 it was ,will be getting another when this one wear out i reckon.
Tell me more about the AC10.

I got 500kms out of one and couldn't wait to get home and take it off.
If it had been Satrurday I would have found a bike shop and bought well whatever they had that fitted even if it was a road tyre.

Maybe I used the wrong tube or bad air or something but it felt like it was designed fopr a 105kg MX bike and didn't have the sidewall stability to handle a 75hp 160kg middle weight let alone fatboy KTM.

Shit loads of traction in a straight line just couldn't keep it straight.

E 10 Tryes

Im just about to put a set of E 10's on my 990 and been searching thru here and finding alot of different information. I think they will be a good trye for the sort of riding I do and expect to get about 4k out of a rear and they look pretty good for traction and punture resistance. What do you guys think??

P.S Sensible replys only please......

I found the AC10 fronts to be very floaty on the DRZ, especially under brakes- the whole bike would get a wobble up (more like a sway). I much prefer the MITAS C-17 or C-21. I found them to be very good 'all-rounders.' Good wear and predictable control across all surfaces.

MMmh well i dont know mate,i have had the ac 10 on the front for around 5500kms with ultra heavy duty tube at around 15-20 psi and a cant fault it for grip and wear rate is good ,it wouldnt be any where near halve worn yet, maybe your pressure is too high?i have run it in all types of tar, dirt, sand cant comment on mud performace (yet)went good on very corrugated roads as well ,my 950 has a safari tank which holds 50l plus a tank bag when full is around 8-10kg ,each to their own i guess ,have tryed d606 and give them 10/10 but was after a softer compound front .
cheers aub

Yeah, they are fairly aggresive pattern but soft compound. Suited more to European forests I think.

Have a gander a the Mefo or E-09 Mitas and or the E-07 Mitas while Ozbikerdude is giving it a rap.

I normally get around 14,000Km out of a rear TKC80, but I ride like an old woman.

ATM, TKC front, along with Heidenau K60 rear, 17,500Km and still going (just). Front was spun around on the rim at about 9,000Km to even up the scalloping. Coming off next week to fit E07`s front and rear.
