Just a hint, buy a second tank cap, this one you have is sought after, MZ's and Simsons are very famos six days enduro machines.
BTW: If you ever get one of them with history for a good price don't wait, don't trade just get it, very rare birds! ![]() extremly collectable when with history |

For a no - cost treatment of your exhaust , try this : paint it with used 4-stroke motor oil. It will smoke til the oil burns off but leave a coating of carbon black.

Sounds quite toxicating! Well, the exhaust is the least of my worries. My attention was headed towards the suspension shrouds. I'd like to keep it on the road all the time, but still need to get my tinker-fix!

So today I sorted the electrics, made the error of ASSUMING, something belonged somewhere. So I blindly connected the earth to the hotwire, essentially putting a wire across the batterypoles.
After I realised my brainfart I started cleaning up the harness, so now I have a fully functioning harness again. The brakelight is slow to come on, I'm told this is the nature of 6v electrics, does this hold any truth? I don't see why. |

That mad hatter flashlight bike is growing on me
- you are in the grips of a very curious addiction - I know that MZ two strokes are revered in Limeyville but not much here. Still, based on your posts I now get it. Great bike story.

I want to refurbish the engine so I know the condition of what I have. Therefore I've begun making the MZ special tools. Most I could probably do without, but I've never done an overhaul before, so I want it to go as smooth as possible. That, and I have some spare time at the lathe these days :) ![]() First tool, made for driving in one of the gearbox bearings and it is also used for driving out a gearbox shaft. They will all be made close to original spec. |
