Beautiful MZ
The MZ is absolutely awsome! I love it. I've always liked Jawa's too but unfortunately sold my 250 California years ago. If you know of an MZ like this one in the USA for a reasonable price please send me a PM. Thanks Phil

Unfortunately I cannot help with anything MZ related in the US.
Yesterday I took delivery of a rubberpiece, which mounts betweeen the rear mudguard and the taillight, a piece that I've been missing for a long time. That and a new battery, 12v and in the same size as the old 6v, which is then fits neatly in the original batterycarrier. Also painted the rear wheelspacer, but it will need some more coatings. When thats done, the rearwheel will be correctly mounted and I will finally have a rollable chassis. Rollable, because my centerstand is still at the coaters, so I'm not taking it off the stand. |

I spent around 700$ on engineparts earlier this week, which should see me through an engine rebuild. Going over to a mates later this evening with all the parts. I'll bring the camera :)

PO had made the bike run with blinkers, so he has drilled holes in the shell. I just welded it up, a repaint is planned at some point :)

The engine is still not done, so I've done small stuff like fitting the throttle mechanism and other misc. stuff. Soon though, soon!

News from the front! Great progress with the engine, though a problem has a risen!
This gearwheel carries the clutch and is also the primary wheel to the gearbox. It needs to be shimmed to have 0,05mm. of play, but as you can see on the picture, the washer that is going to be laid over the gear here, will create 0,0mm. tolerance, as the gearwheel with shim (lies beneath the gear) is taller than the "step" on the crankshaft. MZs have had various sizes gears and the needlebearings that it rolls on. Here is another gear, but this is way too small, creating a play of ~2mm. The two gears. So the question now, how the F do I get the correct gear? Oh yeah, different ratioes are also in play here. |

Visiting an MZ dude this thurs! He has a huge selection of spares, so I will be picking up several sets of gears and see what I can get to work for me.
Along with over small oddities I will be pretty close to take off :) |

This is what you have been waiting for! Well... Maybe not, but here it is :)
I have a new problem though, 3 collars on the spoke nipples broken. The wheel has driven 0km. so they will need to be redone :/ |
