Trans NH trails

I searched this thread and didn't find any series of trails from Northern NH south to the Mass border.

I'm trying to plan a trip for this fall. I am going to do the Trans Mass trail to the Puppy Dog route. Then I want to go across Norther VT to NH and then head South through NH on mostly dirt roads back to MA.

Take a week, camp, eat, ride, camp, eat, ride you know the drill

If anybody is interested I'm looking at mid October.

We are planning a route TBD from TMAT through VT/NH/ME to the TCAT now. NH/ME is pretty much scripted, from Haverhill to Vanceboro. I have four weeks left to have a final draft. I'm riding it end of June, to be incorporated into TET.

I disregard the PDR because it is not ADV explicit. We are developing our own through VT. The VT/NH border is lookin' kinda good. Ideas?

Thanks for the replies.

I'm thinking maybe I'll start in NH and work my way north and try to explore that way. Since I already know the VT route I can just cruise home that way and spend more time in NH.

Anybody know who Team8 is? I got a pm and they said to ask Team8

Good guy, I'm sure he'd help you if he has any info, but he's in the Newfield ME area. I think he knows every dirt road and trail in southwestern ME by memory, but I'm not sure how much he knows about NH.

Check out dualsportmaps - there might be some info there.

Concord to Tripoli Rd

Red Rider, I am pretty good around the Lakes Region and can get you from Concord NH up to Tripoli Rd through Waterville Valley and Sandwich Notch on mostly dirt and range roads. I'll try and get out this weekend and post a GPS track. I've been wanting to do the same thing, get from the White Mountains to the Mass Border.

Thumb Coos County

I am new to this, but this thread includes my back yard, northern NH & ne VT. Coos county is the northern most county in NH. I am not familiar with all the routes, but you could start in Pittsburg (Canadian border) and ride back roads to North stratford, where there is an active ATV club. I think you'd find good rough riding through the Stratford/Groveton/Dummer/Lancaster area. You could call Ted Burns in N. Stratford for info on trails in that area.

I am getting excited, this sounds like a lot of fun

Sounds like you're all set with your mass route, but I could show you some trails just over the MA border through Templeton/Winchendon/royalston with a state campground. Nothing too special but just up for a ride tour through my area.

Sanbornton to Barlett

I was finally able to lay down a route and actually ride it. Went from Sanbornton to Mt Washington auto road this weekend and took this route on the way up. The hardest part is Mountain Trail Rd in Holderness. It was apparently washed out pretty good from tropical storm irene. We made it up no problem on the XR's but we are running non-DOT trail tires. The two sections of Mountain Trail Rd are connected by a hiking trail so watch out for hippies. Sandwich Notch Road is really great, I typically run it south to north.

Check out the attached .GPX files and let me know what you think. I'll add more when I can.
