I have a Galaxy S3 so 4.1.2 has no issues.
Glad to hear it friend.

purchased the app last night. Probably a basic question, but when I try to add the dualsportmaps.com overlay the screen goes blank and stays that way for a long time. I don't see any of the dsm.com tracks.

Did you download any maps?
Go to settings
Data for offline usage
Download vector maps
Select maps you need
Go back to overlays
Download overlays for your area
Then they should show up.

Motorola A855 Droid with this app?

Hey I have a friend who wants to sell me a Motorola A855 Droid. It's using Android 2.2.3 and has SD card. Is this a reasonable choice to run the app? Anyone using one?

I will not be using it for anything else and I want something used and cheap since I may well drop it in a river or vibrate it to death.

Thanks!

Maybe not, if you can also get an onscreen keyboard to work. I had an HTC Tilt that had both and used it for DSM.

I ordered a nexus 7 today. I'll have that Speedo problem sorted out soon.

Crafty, as you know I had problems with my HTC Sensation (unreadable screen in sunlight, serious power issues) and gave up running the app as my main device, so I bought a Garmin Montana. That was 2 years ago and I haven't been completely pleased with it. Next week the new Garmin Monterra hits the stores and it seems to be a Montana, but with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HD Video, FM & Weather Radio, AND IT USES THE ANDROID OS. Plus the standard unit is waterproof (IPX-7), shockproof, has 16 hrs battery life and will run on 3 AA's, and fits my Montana mounts.

The downside is the price - $650 - and the "low" res touch screen. It's only 272 x 480 pixels.

Garmin claim you can run Google Play Apps on it, but doesn't state if they must be written specifically for a low res screen.

Would DSM run at this resolution? I ask, because I'm considering selling the Montana and getting a Monterra if they have any good Black Friday sales.

thanks
Bob

I'm not sure, but it would be a worthy effort to make it work.

Would that effort be yours or mine ...

Will you be in Tucson this winter? We could co-operate on this .....

I volunteer to send you one when it's available. I'll get the model without topo maps if you think the built-in memory is ok. Perhaps you'll provide an appropriate microSD card according to your needs.

With worldwide basemap $649.99 USD
With TOPO US maps $699.99 USD

Built-in memory
6 GB (With Worldwide Basemap)
3 GB (With TOPO U.S. 100K Maps)

Accepts data cards microSD card (not included)

This is a genuine offer.
Game on?
