It's still possible. I still had the available in Play store on a brand new device.

I would say just email it to yourself, or have someone email it to you, but then I remembered this is a paid (well worth it!) Application...and I don't want to be negative or step on toes.

It would be a good idea to backup your applications with titanium backup, or something.

Craftycoder,

I am still kind of playing around and trying to learn more about using DSM. It would help myself and others if you had an index with how to instructions so that a DSM noob like me can just go to the pertinent section vs. trying to read hundreds of posts in advrider.

Specifically, can you tell me how to record tracks and then follow the same tracks back to the starting point- reverse track?

This is how I think I start recording my tracks on an off road ride:

Go to Settings, Monitoring & and ensure "Save Tracks to GPX" is enabled and hit "Save Current Track" which I believe will start the recording.

My next question is how do I reverse the track to follow it back to the starting point using the same tracks back?

I will be riding in the upcoming Broxton DS Ride next weekend and I wanted to use the DSM.

Thanks.

Jon

It is offline until CC can get the website fixed. Google removed the API he was using to edit maps.

Thanks but I was actually trying to figure out how to do it on my phone vs. the DSM website.

Not sure if there will be a new version until the DSM Website is rewritten to Google's new API. I am just trying to use the DSM in a standalone mode (phone only) and hope that one day it will be re-introduced.

I think I read in earlier posts that DSM will still work just fine in standalone mode other than maps will not get updated until the DSM website is rewritten.

Map updating is done outside of DSM from the map source of your choice, so that's not a problem. GPX files from the site also update if you have data enabled, and you can even upload new .gpx files to the website, share them, and download those back to your phone for use on the trail. The big issue is that with the API change, you can't currently edit routes on the website.

Is there any projected date for this coming back alive? It sounds pretty good from all what I've read.

Need basic tips for app

new user here,
I have a few basic Qs about the app (not the website)

1. How do I make it record a track as I ride?
2. I don't understand the file management. How do I identify the track I recorded?

I thought I recorded last weekend's ride ,but I can't find a file that has it.
I moved the dated gpx files to my pc, but they did not include the ride I did that day.

Website question:
1. Is it possible to upload a gpx track and use it to download USGS topo tiles to look at when I follow the track later?

Thanks!
