FANDAMTASTIC!!!!

Wish I was with you... LJHrider and I rode the tennessee portion of the TAT that week and from the photos, you had a much better adventure than we did....

But we did have more mountains...

Can't wait to see the track..

TreeMan, your RR...

has inspired me to take a similar road trip down in that same area. Thanks. Not sure I can handle the sand though. Loved your pics and storyline too.

TreeMan or any of you, if you come through Chambers County shoot me a message and I'll give you a cold drink and a place to camp if not a bed. What was your route through Chambers and Randolph Counties?

My Tracks

Here are my tracks for the trip.

On my trip, I came to a locked gate. It was a big single arm gate like the forest service uses. I could easily see the highway from the gate. I chose to use the small gap to the right of the gate instead on backtracking. I placed the waypoint "Unsure" when I got home where I think I entered this property. I did not see a gate where I went in. However, I did see a few signs in this area that said Private Road Drive At Your Own Risk. I do not know who the owner is or if this section is legal or not.

One more thing, I had my Tracking turned off for my slab ride across northern AL. It was real boring anyway

Great report and look forward to trying some of it. It sounds like you were pretty close to me at times, especially in the Pine Mtn area which is just south of me about an hour.

A group of us did the Southern DS Loop this past week. My trip got cut short when my wife bit it hard in the sand between Augusta and Savannah and wasn't up to continuing. I got her home and then spent the remainder of the week playing in NW GA with a couple of the guys.

I've got to check out Randolph County since you liked it so much. Coming from NW GA, I've always gone through Talladega NF to around Sylacauga, never hit that. I agree with you on F.D. Roosevelt State Park, I rode all around that place trying to find the campground, I finally blundered into the place where you register and did camp ...It was either 30 or 35 bucks to lay in the dirt there!
