The Drop

I think this gives a certain town its name. it appears to be an old mill, near a spring, hence the town name. you can fine this on Route 901

Drop.

Hid lucky on the corner of the building.

Drop.

Drop.

be careful crossing the road to take a pic, this place is on a blind curve, aka a great motorcycle curve.

had a great ride to berkeley springs from Hagerstown, found some dirt roads, and even ended up crossing a small stream. Wee Strom did good on its first stream crossing. my feet got wet though

if anyone wants to socialize and meet a rider in the area, send me a PM when you come to get Lucky. my house is only 5 minutes away.

Yea, I guess I should have taken a picture of the stone in front of "Lucky". Glad you got the grab - it had been sitting there for quite some time.

Lucky is in my care! I'll report back in a bit. First a bubble bath.

Don't mind the no trespassing sign. My folks own the place and I told them what we are up to.

He was very thirsty.

I couldn't find him at first. He had moved about 5 feet from the picture. I thought I was to late but I had a second look.

Wonder how he moved? I left him where I took the pic.

or maybe Lucky was lucky that what moved him wasn't the same creature that moved his cousin "Ranger Duck" on the NWVA tag. Ranger Duck - attacked

Grab and Tag

Well after a dry spell got to do a grab and tag, tag would have been further but was a little pressed for time and didnt get to leave as early as planned.

GRAB: Shenandoah Valley Railroad Train Depot Route 51 Charles Town Located right off Route 51 or Middleway Pike, the depot is CharlesTown’s only standing railroad station. Once a bustling stop for the SVRR, which later became the Norfolk and Western Railway, it served as stiff competition for the B&O Railroad. My son who really likes trains thinks the place is neat. (Bracky72, prett cool that your family owns it, looks like a nice place to have a cook out or picnic)

Thought someone or thing had moved lucky again...but i think and hope Bracky72 placed Lucky there so wind wouldnt blow him away or an earthquake wouldnt swallow him up ....

Tag: Like i said not as far as i wanted to take Lucky...but was a little pressed for time. So I stayed on the road of the grab and drove to the West End of the Road as far as the Road goes, at the intersection of a 2 digit road with a total of 9.

In 1734, John Mills acquired, from Virginia Lieutenant Governor Gooch, 1315 acres of land near the southernmost gap in North Mountain used as a crossing point by settlers traveling the old Pack Horse Road, a former Indian trail from Shepherdstown to Romney. Below the gap, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ was settled on the same land grant.

During the French and Indian War, native tribesmen crossed the gap from the west and massacred local families in _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.

Around 1769, John Mills Jr. opened and operated a tavern frequented by travelers at the gap.
Today’s overlook at the crossroads is an irresistible stop to appreciate the panoramic view of the Shenandoah Valley to the east including farmland and orchards. Red bud, apple white and peach pink dominate the color scheme in spring. At night, it’s the city lights of Martinsburg. Continue along the trail to the west to cross the lush and still sparsely settled _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Valley.

Lucky's hiding place is about a foot from the left corner of marker (written side).

Hidden under a piece of trash and broken off door handle... must be a lot of wreck at this intersection.

Also be careful on this road, a gentleman was killed while riding his triumph on this road about a year ago ...by someone high on drugs, last i heard she was still in jail.
