Where Are You Going?
Where Are You Going???
This is the question I was often asked when I tried to explain my plans for a 3 month 11,000 mile trip up to Arctic Circle in both Alaska and Canada. It is just a week & a day until I set out for my trip so I wanted to get this thread started so I can share the link with family & friends prior to departure on June 4th. My intention is to do this ride report as “live” as possible on a daily basis when internet access is available. I want to start by expressing my gratitude to all those who have gone before me & taken the time to do ride reports to share their experience. I have used the ride reports here on ADV rider as my reference library for planning my trip. Update April 2013: I have just realized that the host/server where I posted my photos was bought out by another company & the result is that the links to my photos are no longer working. I am going to attempt to re post the photos for this thread as time allows.

Just beautiful. Your route is similar to the one I'm planning for 2012. I'll be following your progress and look forward to your RR and photos.

The First Segment of the Trip
My wife Leslie will be joining me on her 2005 BMW GS for the first segment of the trip, up though the San Juan Islands and over to Vancouver Island.
![]() Here is a picture of the two of us from last year’s trip in Glacier National Park. ![]() And later at an espresso break on our way to Yellowstone NP ![]() She does really well on her bike and is not afraid of taking it on some back roads: ![]() This is a back road we found pretty close to Yellowstone NP ![]() After our visit to Vancouver Island Leslie will catch the ferry to Port Angles and head south back to home while I will continue north to Port Hardy and get the ferry to Prince Rupert. goldenrev screwed with this post 04-09-2013 at 01:54 PM |

T- 2 Days
I am down to my final selection of what to bring for my trip & making sure it will all fit on the bike. I know there are different points of view about how much to bring... as little as possible to everything you might even need, I am bringing about the same as I brought last year on my cross the US & Canada trip; I am a little on the "bring as much as you want" side especially with my plans to camp as often as I have decent weather. Also just gotta have my kermit chair
