Cool2 Uh, oh. Problem...

The rain here finally lightened up to a drizzle so I could actually enjoy going riding so I put on my gear, put the harness and Doggles on my dog, and we headed off for the dirt roads to go exploring.

Problem is, my dog (16 lbs, Border Terrier) likes to ride standing with his front paws on the upturned nose of the seat and now his head blocks my view of the relocated indicator lights!

Oh, well. He does turn his head often to see what is going on around us and I can see the lights then.

He wears a full harness (NOT his collar) that attaches to a harness I wear so he can't fall off, if you were wondering.

Other than that, the relocated lights position is excellent. Highly recommended to all.

Wanna see something funny? Look for part #24. http://www.bikebandit.com/2009-suzuk...8127#sch590889 Apparently even BikeBandit doesn't know what these screws are! I was hoping to find a good description/size for these screws here but no luck. Unreal!

ahhh... that's hilarious
its like an inside joke....
this is the gospel truth: when I removed mine and started toting them around to places looking for short versions... by the time I hit the second store I was getting embarrassed, and talked myself into thinking that somebody had replaced the originals on my bike with common drywall screws ... i was really self-conscious about it.
"What'd these things come out of?"
"... um... an asian motorcycle"......
"them ain't no motorcycle screws...."

Talking

The screws, I believe, are standard plastic screws called "Thread Forming Screws".
They are similar to self tapping screws but are designed to be used in certain types of plastics.

If this link works, I think it shows the same type of screws:
http://www.acumentnorthamerica.com/remform.asp

Now, where to get them in the relatively small quantity you probably want is another Google search.

Sorry for resurrecting the dead, but are these still available?

I'm trying to fit a KLX450r fairing to my DR and the rubber-mounted indicators are getting in the way. Your bracket is exactly what I need and saves me from messing around with a hacksaw and file.

They're still on Ebay (I guess they are the same ones?) - Search for dr650 dashlite - $10.99 shipped

TCI Products has one too. Looks similar, $21.99, not sure it it's different material?

Zapp: do you still have any of the "blems"? I don't mind paying $11 for a "production" unit (especially to an inmate with a DR) but I was just curious. If not, I'll get one off of eBay. Thanks.
