disclaimer: the video is bad, done standing on a pillar holding a point and shoot camera, and I had to put it together "blind" since the software decided not to play the video . Either way, I am sharing it anyway

sorry in advanced

That video is cool. Kind of like one of those gas law demonstrations.

Was already headed home. I had just rode through the Beauty Spot from the other direction (so the sun wouldn't be in my eyes). I'd love to tag along the next time this crew heads out & learn new rides. Next time you ride this way, I might even be able to show you some new stuff !!

I rode that portion on my SV650 about years ago... Ended up with a flat tire on the gravel section right before that section of road... Had some other guy equally lost on a Zuma 125 of all things, who took me 20 minutes into town each way for a bicycle pump and some tire plugs. Ended up limping to the bottom of the valley where I waited for three hours for a friend with a trailer, as the rear tire had a gash in it that was too large to effectively plug. Beautiful spot to be stranded... Perfect weather, and the bottom of that valley in the fading sunlight was absolutely gorgeous. Small world!

I'd love to find some more roads (I skipped a few good ones in order to make a "loop"). But I am always in search of some gravel, dirt, ...

I think _anatic already responded to you, but in case you missed it, keep an eye out for "gatherings" in this thread.

I assume you live close to the Appalachian Trail? That's cool. I've got a piece of land that I'm building on that's in the Fines Creek community of Hot Springs; about a 4 mile hike/drive/ride from Max Patch.

I guess I just couldn't stay away from the trail, lol. Did a thru-hike after I got out of the Army, but the funny thing is that I now hike about every trail except the AT. Guess I just that fact that some of the other trails are less used.

Anyway...great stories and pictures.
