A BIG well done Dave and Darren. You have obviously had troubles along the way, guess it wouldn't be an ADVenture if you didn't; but you both got there in the end.

Bet there isn't a single person on this site who hasn't been or doesn't know of someone effected by cancer, so hoping that the fundraising goes well. Perhaps we all should do our bit too...

Congratulations.

Looking forward to reading and seeing more as you get chance.

Cheers

Continental Drift Movie now complete

Himalayan Mountains China side were a challenge. With altitude up to 5,000 metres life becomes difficult when wrestling bikes.

Reading about your fuel pump issues, firstly changing a standard install pump is a nightmare as you found out because the moulded plastic piping is so god damn moulded and obviously the KTM crush clips can't be reused.
For this I went with using Gates submersible fuel hose and EFI clamps from the so called quick disconnect down to the pump, to change the pump in the bush you only have to pull it out far enough to access the two clamps, easy.

Secondly the grey/black shit you found in your filter, I run a Profill filter at pump inlet instead of the standard screen and my internal tank filter is now external.

Filter is the #HUS01

When I changed my Profilter at 15000km it also had the residue on it but not enough to interupt fuel flow at that point. Obviously being pump inlet it is stopping the residue contaminating the pump but if I don't change it often enough it could cavitate the pump. In your case the pump is swimming in the stuff and when the standard filter clogs in the outlet from the pump it will soon overheat and die.
As you have recieved sponsorship from KTM I would feedback that they have an issue with the construction of the tank and that certain fuels maybe breaking down the resin and contaminating filters to the point of pump failure.
It isn't rocket science and they should acknowledge the fact at least, but I am sure they won't because of the warranty claims. I have heard Shell Fuel is worse but I stick to BP Ultimate as much as I can except out bush.

Reactivation time!

Well the movie of the London to Sydney ride is complete and has been available in DVD form in Australia for the past couple of weeks.

The disappointing thing about this thread is that it is disjointed and lacking prose, primarily because video editing takes so much out of you to do.

Anyway I think the best way to conclude this thread is by posting of the next couple of weeks the full Continental Drift movie that will be serialised into 4 or 5 episodes of around 10 to 15 minutes each.

Looking forward to getting this thread up and running for the final stretch if anyone is interested.

final episode of Continental Drift

And so the story ends. A little disjointed but this chapter is now officially closed. I hoped you've like it.
