G'Day Greg,

I really like the Africa Twins but how do you go with parts and the like. I seem to recall that the 750's were never imported into Oz so do you have to order all of your parts from O/S?

Another question, any idea as to what sort of HP they produce at the rear wheel?

Thanks for any advice you might be able to pass on.

Hi Burren,

Honda AT's were never officially imported to Oz, there are 15 or so that live here that have been privately imported as well as always a few tourists passing through the country.

Power - 60hp
weight - 206kg dry
Suspension - front 220mm damper rod forks , rear 220mm shock with comp damping adjustment
Tank - 23L
They are really long in the wheelbase , 1565mm , which makes them a slow steerer and great out west in the sand for a big bike.

The bike has about the same performance as a BMW 100GS but is a bit more revvy but IMHO handles heaps better than a 100GS.

As for parts, most consumable are available here eg, oilfilter, sprockets levers etc. For anything not available in Oz I get for a good price from Singapore. For body parts you need to get from OS, for major engine parts, it's surprising how much is available here when I go to my Honda shop and type in the part no's

Really we have a network of AT owners with workshop manuals, parts books, lots of knowledge etc and owning one is not a hassle really as it only takes 1 week to get parts from OS. They are a very simple bike really.

My AT has 225,000km on it now and I love it !!!

Thanks for the reply Greg, I knew you would have the answers. 225,000km's is pretty amazing from a 650 twin.

I have sent an e-mail to hopefully get a little bit more info.
